My rzr has 280 miles on it to date and this code 520 194 7 has come up just when I first fire it up. But shut it off and it's gone. Any answers? The machine is still on warranty.

I think you will find that you have the same problem that many 2013's are experencing. There is a vane sensor located on the throttle. The reed switch gets stuck and throws that code. It's been found that if you step in the throttle a few times before starting the vehicle, it will release the reed switch. There are numerious posts for this problem. Most are related to the "S" version of RZR. Do a search on the forum for the error code and you will find many references. There doesn't seem to be a fix just a work around.
My 13 xp just threw this code. Idled fine but when I would give it a little throttle it would idle up and then idle back down kinda like the cable was sticking. I unhooked the battery and I didn't help. So I turned the rzr off and sprayed the sensor above the pedal with some electrical lube and pressed the gas pedal several times with the rzr off and havnt had a problem since. Hopefully I won't.
Thanks for the help! This helped me at my place in the country when it did the same thing luckily i had internet access.
My further question is if anyone knows if this "Reed switch" is necessary and why it is present .
Can it be bypassed i mean if it is just another safety gadget the insurance companies are trying to push ill gladly take it off. Thanks in advance
BTW i have a 2014 RZR with not even 40 miles on it.
Hey Rfish thanks for the reply!
Just curious how did you figure out the 6.8k OHM resistor works ?
If this is a safe permanent bypass I just may do it when my warranty expires.
I had an 08 RZR and it didnt have that option and i never once had an issue with that machine btw. i wander what its function is?
It's a throttle safety switch. All sleds have them. If cable is stuck open the engine won't take off. There's a huge thread "brand new rzr s won't run". The whole thing is about the switch an the bypass. Lotsa ppl running the bypass for long time with no problems including me. All you need is a meter to figure out wat resistance the switch should read when throttle is pushed. A guy already had it figured so I never bothered metering mine.
Hey guys, mine threw the same code out. It starts and runs but runs really rough and doesn't want to move forward when I put it in gear and press the gas. I tried working the pedal several times, tried spraying contact cleaner on it, finally pulled the sensor off and its sealed so I don't know how cleaner would do any good. What do I do ???
Oh I thought that looked like a seatbelt override. One other question. What wattage should they be? I see them on Ebay anywhere from a quarter of a watt to 25 watts.
