Re: Tire for Brimstone/Windrock

How about lateral traction? Back in the day when some of my friends ran jeeps they ran tsl instead of boggers because of sliding sideways on sidehills. They look almost identical to boggers I think.

Re: Tire for Brimstone/Windrock

Well I'm back.

As for the tire choice, I think I would have been fine with either at Windrock, but at the last minute (literally at the Pilot at Exit 141) we decided to go over to RRB instead of Brimstone. Based on that, I am so glad I had the Blackwaters on as I would probably still be stuck in a mudhole somewhere on Trail 10 with the Terrabites. It was so muddy there with all the rain they've had.

Riding was good with only one hard downpour on Saturday, but the result of all the rain, RRB was a muddy mess. Do they ever groom those trails? Sure doesn't look like it as a couple of the mudholes looked like riders had made multiple go-arounds, until those became impassible and then someone made another.

It's always a muddy mess there and no they never groom the trails. There is a lot of great riding on TWRA land but you need to know the trails and which ones to avoid.

Yeah, I have the Lifetime Trail Maps and I know that the trails are tougher than HM, but a green shouldn't require a winch and beat your machine all to hell. LOL

To me it seems the green trails always get beat up the worst. Prolly because of more traffic. I try to stay off the main green trails as much as possible myself. To me 10 is always bad. Again its a main trail that everyone uses to get from here to there, but mainly to get to the store on I-75.
