Tire carrier

Looking to put a Baja Spec cage on my new Rock and Trail. I like the option of the tire carrier you guys offer but not sure if I can use it with my Ozark Trail cooler and a Rigid or Dewalt tool box in the bed. How much room for height is there under this tire mount for a cooler or something? It also states up to 30" tire. Is this a room thing or will the struts not lift a 32? The buggy has 30s on it now but I would eventually step up to 32s.

Usa Re: Tire carrier

I never did add a tire carrier or rack to mine. I have the Rigid box and an Ozark Trail 26 cooler in the bed now. If I need to carry a spare I just strap it on top of the cooler and box. A little bit of a pain to get into the cooler that way but walking back to the truck with a tire I can't plug would be a bigger pain.

Have looked into the Assault Industries rack that swings up but I have my rear speaker pods back there between the rear down bars and not sure it would clear. Most of the time I am not far enough away from the truck that I carry the spare. I just leave it in the truck and if I ruin a tire (knocks on wood) I will just have a riding buddy go back and get it.

Re: Tire carrier

I have the fold down cagewrx spare tire mount for a couple years. It fits a Dewalt box in the back and a soft side AO insulated cooler behind it next to the latch works good. I wanted to do the rigid dual box setup but it hit so I cut the mount apart, widened it and now it works good for that setup...still can't put a big cooler though...latch would need to be higher.
