B&M Gated Shifters Available @ Alternative Offroad

We have both versions available- stock replacement or Hill Killer

Stock replacement is a trigger activated gated shifter, and the Hill Killer allows you to shift from Drive (past Park) and straight into reverse by slamming the shifter forward when you find yourself about to tip backwards on a hill climb

These shifters are made by B&M, the legendary shifter company!

They have been flying off the shelves. Let us know if you have any questions!

Does the Hill Killer gate "R-N-L" or "R-N-L-H" together?
The standard one; you have to depress the trigger to change to any position?

Can you clarify?

You've probably already found pics for yourself and can see it gates R,N,L together and you'd need to pull the lever to get into Park and High. I'll know for sure soon enough as I just bought from Alternative Offroad, the hill killer model.

From P you pull the shifter to engage R. Then you can shift from R N L by pulling/pushing the shifter without depressing the lever. The lever then needs to be depressed again to engage H. So basically P & H are locked out by the lever (gates). The is so it can be slammed from H or L straight to R without over shifting into park. Comes in handy when climbing steep hills and you need to engage R quickly to prevent a rollover

Not sure if I'll have to make any fine-tuned adjustment when I install mine, but what I'm really looking forward to is not having to hunt for gears anymore. Hot damn it gets old really quickly. And that's not even during a stress situation but rather normal shifting even pulling into and out of the garage!

What's the difference between the two shifters?

With the other model you have to pull the lever to shift in/out of any and every gear.

I bought the Hillkiller, works awesome!! Love not having to search for reverse all the time. If you're in H, you just push it and it stops in R.
You pull the trigger to get it out of P and into R, then you just pull to L, then grab the trigger and pull for H. It works really well!!

Re: B&M Gated Shifters Available @ Alternative Offroad

Got my shifter the other day and installed it. Not bad at all. Had to adjust my shift cable a bit which is no biggie. Haven't taken it on a ride yet but looking forward to it. Playing with the shifting in my driveway and things feel pretty smooth. I like it. I added the blue accent insert for a bit extra cost...

Re: B&M Gated Shifters Available @ Alternative Offroad

I like it a lot. Only small issue is after I've adjusted the cable the best I can, chasing back and forth, Park is the only one to give me issues at times. I might have a stretched cable causing the issue or perhaps B&M should add just a bit more space to the gate plate for the parking position. I could possibly file it down and keep the same angle but I'll wait to see if it ever gets worse. It's been a few months now. All the other gears shift as they should. I can adjust to go into Park better at the expense of barely getting into reverse. So I'll leave it as-is.

Love it regardless and would definitely buy it again.

Re: B&M Gated Shifters Available @ Alternative Offroad

I bought the Hill Killer and really like it.
High quality product, easy install and functions exactly how I wanted/needed it to.

Very pleased with the B&M gated shifter, only issue...I wish I would have installed it sooner.

One note, it is a little tricky to adjust for proper engagement. Take the tools with you to adjust on the trail. It took a couple tweaks to get it perfect. Adjustment was expected, but kind of surprised what one or two threads made. It's a precisely milled piece and required a fairly precise adjustment.

I've already used the Park position lock, very nice deterrent.

My riding partner has the "other" version. Very annoying to have every gear position gated. It was gift from his kids, so no complaints. But I told him which detent to remove to make it like mine.

Value meter = Very high
