?Mudlight XTR vs Outlaw MST?

Does anybody have expieience running BOTH of these tires? If so what conditions? Mud? Snow? Rocks? I like the "radial concept but the MST has the side lug. Any thoughts?

I have the XTR's on my King Quad and for mud/snow they work great, you could get by with 2x4 because they will lift front tires off the ground. I do not know how they hold up with sticks/rocks because the trails I used it on were not that bad, but did have it roll strait back on me and use my face as a cushion.

unless you do alot of high speed pavment driving save your money and your rims and buy mud light XL. when you first take off you can feel them after thay start rolling thay smoth out. also do yourself a favor and go with 12 inch rims. 12's have a taller sidewall than 14's. this will help keep your rim's looking nice for a long time. 14's look the best but looks dont always last. and thay cost alot more. 14 torq rim $98ea 12 torq $82ea xtr dont make a 27 inch 12 inch wide tire. 27x11x12 xtr $135ea 27x12x12 xl $96ea 27x11x14 xtr $141ea xl 27x12x12 tire and rim set $712 plus tax xtr 27x11x12 tire set $868 plus tax by going with the xl 12inch tire your rzr will look great at a $156 value. thats about what a high perfomance drive belt and a set of clutch springs from holtz will cost you. if you dont do alot of mud your looking at the wrong type of tire. also if you go with 12's thay way less. this means more HORSEPOWER!.

Re: ?Mudlight XTR vs Outlaw MST?

that depends on how much HORSEPOWER you have. and if you want to do clutch work. i dont want to do alot of engine mods. and im only going to put holz primary and secondary clutch spring in. i will do this soon when i service drive belt with holtz high performance belt. springs and belt only cost $100. my stock clutch works fine. but i want a fresh belt and i will use old belt for back up. back to HORSEPOWER and tires. i went with 27 inch tall mud lights because there the lightest tire with a good mud tread. that would give me enough clearance and still have good power. and handle turns good. if you leave your HORSEPOWER stock. and your clutch stock. and than put a 28 inch 589 12 inch wide tire up front and on back. you just added alot of weight that will cost you alot HORSEPOWER. and your car will handle like $hit. if all your gona do is mud bog. lift it. clutch it. and mod the hell out of the motor. put some 30 inch tires on it. and drive it in a straight line. me and my friends have been using mud light tires on alot of differant units. thay wont hold up as long as the heavy tires. but thay last a fair amount of time. i have a friend that out ran my kfx 700 on a brute force with 27 inch 589 tires.(heavy) he also has clutch mod and a cdi box that works real good. again in a straight line. i will smoke his a$$ any place else. if i had to pick from xtr vs mst i would pick the lightest tire. because thay both have good traction.and the lighter tire will have more HORSEPOWER. but if you want to enjoy different types of riding with your car dont over do it. i wanted 10 inch tire up front but i put a 9inch on because it carves better. lots of info. hope it helps.
