Re: Terracross XD vs Bighorn 2.0

Might as well toss a coin. I think both choices are equal. The Bighorns weigh a little more but may be tougher (the XD is pretty new so we don't know how tough they are yet). Terras supposedly are better in mud than 'Horns so might be better in deep snow.

Just guessing here but if a softer compound or more points, edges and angles in the tread matter on packed snow, the Terra might be better.

Re: Terracross XD vs Bighorn 2.0

the 2.0's are a flatter tire like a holeshot tire. they are three pounds a tire lighter and i love mine!

Re: Terracross XD vs Bighorn 2.0

When the Terracross sit around for a couple weeks they get a flat spot (thump) going down the road. The Bighorns dont because they are a radial tire. I use my Terracross on the road, and it drives me crazy, but I dont feel it once I am in dirt. Snow or mud I have no idea. In the sand the Bighorns hook up better and float more (lower psi). I run the Terracross and my Dad runs the Bighorns so I have a pretty good comparison. The Bighorns look like they are going to last much longer than the Terracross.

Re: Terracross XD vs Bighorn 2.0

The Terra IS a radial tire. The XD version has only been available for about 6 months so I'd like to see some evidence of problems.

i hate the tire. it performs well, but it cant make it a trip without getting a flat. the stockers never had an issue in the same area. sidewall pinches, thorns going through, you name it, it will poke a hole in the tire. run them at the proper psi as well.

very dissapointed in the durability, i mean, all trails i ride on are well marked its not like im paving new trails through the forest. anyways, 40 plugs later, i cant wait for them to be worn out so i can toss them.

Also i under stand that the terras size run exact or a little under, and the big horns run alittle taller.
