Re: 25x10x12 7 Paddles & Smoothies

Okay need a little help sorting through the options..

The dealer near the house says the Skat Trak paddle and smoothies are the way to go and is the most common set up. The only other setup I can find in any of the forums is this one with 4 Dune Stars on the corners. When I asked the dealer about this set up he didn't recommend it because it puts to much stress on the clutch and belt.

I currently run stock tires with upgraded clutch springs.

So here are the questions.
Do I need Bead locks for Paddles?
What is the steering like with smoothies?
Should I get a rim with an offset to widen my stance? If so how much offset is prudent front and rear?
Is 7 the right number of paddles and why?

I appreciate any help and all feedback.

Thanks

RZRHog

The typical rule is more paddles more hook to a certain extent 7 paddles will work great and give the most top speed if you like the bigger soft dunes more paddle and tire will help but you will lose a little top speed. As far as wheels most people run the 8" wide douglas with the 3-5 offset the paddles and smoothies will work on 7" wide wheels but not as well. Beadlocks are cool but not absolutely needed! Hope that helps!!

I have some good looking OMF Outlaw 2s with beadlocks to stop the spin on the wheel problem.
