28" tires

Hello I am new to the site I have a 2010 rzr with stock alum wheels and 26" mudlites and a 2" rubberdown lift. I was thinking about going to 28/9/12"s all around especially on the rear [rather than spacers] to give me a little more room at the rear motor mount any feedback would be appreciated Thanks

Re: 28" tires

I can't say without looking at one first hand, but spacers are more than likely still going to be needed. I stuck a 28x10 off the front on the rear of mine one time and there still wasnt enough clearence and that was with a 4+3 offset wheel. I know a 9" wide tire wouldn't have changed anything especially with stock offset wheels. But I haven't tried a 9", so I don't know for sure.

Re: 28" tires

I have been following this train of thought as well, but only with 27x9x12 all the way around on stock front steel rims(no lift, no spacers). It has been writen in other posts on different topics that it will work for 27x9x12, but have yet to see a picture.

Any one got pictures?

Re: 28" tires

Personally, I would leave the 26" mudlights on there. Larger tires will be harder on your axels, cv's, and bearings, especially if you add spacers.

Re: 28" tires

I have a 2" lift on my 2010 Walker Evans Edition. 28x10x14 on the front. 28x12x14 on the rear. When given 'er in the bumps the right rear rubs a little on the heat sheild for the exhaust. Other than that they fit good. A little bit of grinder work on the sheild will fix the problem.

Re: 28" tires

I put 27.5/9/12 pitbull growlers on all fours on my 10 standard RZR no lift and suspension is cracked up one notch from softest. I got 2 more 12x6 front rims for the rear end. They clear the engine mount well enough that after 150 miles last weekend of serious trail riding they maybe rubbed once. But they rub pretty good on the floor boards behind the front tires when you turn only with a heavy load like two riders. I think i will end up putting a 2" lift on sometime this fall but it isn't necessary.

this was the thread i started to find out about those tires fitting. They measure darn close to 28" tall!

Re: 28" tires

I installed a 2-3 inch catvos lift on my 2011 std rzr and per Scott at Catvos i also ordered 14x6 ITPs and 28x9 inch Zillas all around. He said with the front style wheel all around i wont have any problems. We will see when i get home in a couple of weeks.

Re: 28" tires

Here is mine. 14x6 itp 212s and 28x9 zillas. Little bit of rubbing on the front floorboard. Should be an easy fix with a heat gun or go all out and get the floorboard kit for HL.

Your daughter appears to be about the same age as my little girl (22 months). She loves jumping all over my quads and pretending that she is driving them. And she enjoys reaching for the keys in the ignition and trying to start them...

Re: 28" tires

Yeah she get in and plays with the steering wheel. Its funny that she knows what the keys do. i have to take them out cause im afraid she is going to break it off. She loves to ride in the rzr more than anything. All you have to do is ask if she wants to ride and she heads for the garage, gets in and trys to buckle up. Oh and yeah she will be 2 in Dec.

Running Big Horn 27x9x12s on mine now and love it...
slight rub on floor but no other places. Big Horns measure close to 28''
Stick to stock front rim offset to miss motor mount.
