I have spent the better part of a day searching and reading different forums and posts about Zillas. I am pretty sure that is the way I will go b/c they are light and a good mud/trail compromise. I have read that the Zillas are a little shorter than listed...so 28" are more like 27.5".
I have a RD Customs 2" lift. I have 1.5" wheels spacers ready to go on as well. My question to you is can I use 28" Zillas on my 2010 RZR LE with the oem LE wheels? (28x10x12 front and 28x12x12 rear? or what would be best on the LE rims?) Will there be issues with the rear motor mount or front floors? Will I need (or want to) add a clutch kit? Will I sacrifice a great deal of overall performance? Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Re: Another Zillas Question
I now run 30 / 11 zilla`s f&r and don`t have a clutch kit, used to run 28 zilla`s no problem .
The 28 should fit with the rd lift and 1.5 spacers, however i would add the highlifter springs front and back. This combo is great and worked well for me, they are a light tire that does well in the mud..... Last edited by eracrzr; February 14th, 2011 at 04:42 PM. |

Re: Another Zillas Question
I've got 28" zillas, 2" RD lift, HL springs & 1" spacers on SS112's. I had 27" xtr's before; great ride, heavy tire. Zillas are real light for a pretty aggressive tire and mine measure true. She is a lot quicker with the zillas so, yes I gained some performance. I did sacrifice some high speed cornering that the radials provided. I still have my shocks set on the softest setting.

Re: Another Zillas Question
I love the Zillas for how well they do in the mud and how light they are. Going with 28s, I'd recommend looking into a clutch kit as you will notice a performance drop just turning that much of a bigger tire over stock. Then again, I only went one size over stock and noticed a difference....but the clutch kit MORE than made up for it.

Re: Another Zillas Question
So from what i read, the 28" will fit with my mods. I may or may not need HL springs and a clutch kit.
The only question remaining, is what is the best size to go with for the OE 12" crusher wheels? Can I use 28x10x12 on the front and 28x12x12 on the back? Thanks again for the help. |
