Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

Hey guys, I just noticed something, and not sure the answer...

Look at my pictures below and tell me if the tires are on the correct way ?? I never noticed cause the dealer put them on for me.....

Are they on the correct sides ?? or should the grouves be pointing the other way... ???? They are different on both sides...

I see the ITP website shows both (opposite of mine) and some of the other gallery pics of peoples quads some go the other way !

Whats your experieince ? should I change them around (one side at least )LOL

Mac

Re: Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

the driver side are mounted the wrong way. the passenger side are correct.you will have to dismount the driver side and turn the tires around and remount them.

They are correct, it does not matter which way they are mounted they are not a directional tire. I have had 3 sets now.

Re: Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

I believe either way is correct. Based on the side lugs, the driver side will try to keep you in the ruts more, but should clean out better. The passenger side will help to pull out of ruts (or get side bite) but won't clean out as well. Again, that is strictly the side tread I am talking about, I don't know what the center tread looks like.

Not mentioned so far is that on a non-directional tire like the Terracross when the lugs get worn and rounded you can swap your tires left/right and expose some fresh rubber.

Re: Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

Actually, on the right side (passenger) only when turning right on Hard surface like pavement etc.... there is a loud clanking noise from Passenger side front

The clanking only happens when turning and mostly 90 % when turning to the right...

any ideas

Mac

Re: Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

Thanks all for feedback
I changed the driver side to match the Passenger side....

the clanking was not a bearing, not a CVboot, not a shaft prob. but in fact when I took the front hub off to look at bearing when I loosened the bottom pinch bolt of the Bottom Ball joint, I heard it go clank and seperated a little from hub (still with bolt in)

re-assembled everything, and clanking is gone... I did try tightning the castle nut and still was clanking first round.... before I decided to take the hub right off ~

I mean I really think the ball joint into the pinch bolt was causing the clanking.....

I too feel like a Nascar pit crew member changing tires.... LOL

anyway, those that have clanking coming from one side of front end when turning on hard packed surfaces should check the ball joint pinch bolts (don't just tighten !!!! loosen them first, then put them back on per the manual) and hopefully your clanking will go away as mine did...

Re: Tires on the right way ???? Terracross

Mac, do you have the extra wide offset with your ss112's? If so, do your flares cover them or do the tires stick out past the flares.
