Do not want to give up width! NEED TIRES

Has anyone tried this? I am looking to see if anyone has tried to fit 26” tires on 12” STOCK BLACK STEEL WHEELS. I am looking to order 26x9x12 fronts and 26x11x12 rears. This would be a ITP Terra Cross tire full setup on my stock rims. LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE HAS FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE TRYING SOMETHING LIKE THIS! I do not want to install any type of aluminum aftermarket wheel and lose my 50” width. I do realize that Polaris did not leave much room in the rear right wheel...
Thanks

I have that setup. Terracross RT/XD 26x9x12 front and 26x11x12 rear on the Polaris 8-spoke aluminum rims (12x6 front, 12x8 rear). These rims are the only ones I know of that have the same stock offset as the 12" stock steel rims. The 11" tires do make the width 51" in the rear. And the big lugs rub like a SOB on the motor mount and the corner of the skid plate. A few minutes with a cutoff wheel and grinder took care of the rubbing for me--it's THAT important to me to keep it narrow.
The Terracross is an excellent tire. The new XD version of it resolves the one complaint you often hear--sidewall punctures. It's got a very square cross section and that makes the rubbing worse. My other tires are Maxxis Mud Bug R 26x11x12 rear and they barely touched the motor mount and skid plate--and only at full suspension droop. You can see they're much rounder.

Which tires do you like more? Do you have any pics of how much you had to grind off the tire? Does it rub when you hit large bumps? More info would be great thanks!

Re: Do not want to give up width! NEED TIRES

The cutting & grinding I did was all on the Rzr

I beveled the square frame ends at 45 deg., cut the corner off the motor mount bracket and cut the overhanging plastic corner on the skid plate:

The interference is all when the suspension is hanging down. It actually gets better as the susp. retracts.

I like the Terracross tires a little better for handling. Seems to have better bite on hard-pack trails. I haven't been in mud deep enough to see which is better for that.
