Are the 14" Bruiser Rims/MTR Tires the right choice???

I want to do this right the first time.... Are the Brusier 14" / MTR Tires the right way to go??? I ride the trails in North Western Lower Michigan, not alot of rocks, mostley sand. I heard they need to be balanced, also that they are heavy and slow the rzr down. How much heavier and how slow... Are the 12" rims that much better??? Running out of time the new rzr is showing up at the end of June..... I'm not looking to crank through the woods at top speeds with this thing, thats what my bike is for, much easier to control and faster...
Also heard that 14" rims are more likely to cause roll overs than 12" rims.

I bought a set and had them balanced...they took a lot of weight to balance.

Now, if my RZR will ship I'll be able to actually use the the wheels/tires!

I'm a bit new to the forum scene and have been a happy rzr owner for just over a week. I guess i have been waiting until i had logged a few miles/hours under my belt so I can speak on it.

The bruisers are the ones with the 4 spokes? If so that is what I have and I like them. plenty of traction, have not rolled over, but if you want to do donuts make sure it is very slick. They are a bit wider than stock so it will probably help stability. And don't pay the high dealer cost. They can be gotten of the internet much cheaper. And mine have never been balanced.

I don't think at all that a 14" would make it easier to roll.

They're not... that is a terribly misconception!

Dont think rim size affect as much as driving skill and the type of tire, air pressure, etc, oh and common sense

I dont want to be a downer but i had a set of MTRs and kept blowing out the sidewalls, i dont think 4 ply alone can hold up a rzr on those rough rocky trails

I used some MTRs for about 50 miles in the mud and some trails. They are a good tire. And the Bruiser wheels are light, which helps performance.

If you ride any where with sharp rocks and or shale forget the MTR's. I had over 40 plugs in mine after only a couple rides. After the third ride one was unfix able. They have poor traction in mud as well.

40 plugs come on Now
Wow 3 rides and trashed a set of tires.
So what tires do you recommend to hold up to such extremes

I used 30 of them in one hole. Every time I'd land a jump or hit a big bump it would shoot the mass of plugs out and I'd have to ad more. The tire was basically unfix able due to this hole, but it was all I had to ride on that weekend. I'll take a pic as I still have that tire. You can also go over to quads.ca and ask about me and the Logan Lake incident. Everyone that was pissed off at me for having to stop every 20 min. to replug will be sure to chime in. I don't think anyone on that ride had any plugs left by the end. My air compressor died on that ride as well.

The stock Maxxis tires which were also on my Rhino are very tough. They don't have the best traction, have never let me down in the conditions I ride in. The Maxxis Big Horns also hold up well for me. I don't have experience with any other tires, but I'll probubly stick with Maxxis as they seem to make some of the toughest tires.

All the 08's are using a 6 ply MTR tire now, so should hold up
