Original Tires any good ?
Hi to everybody. I do have Q about Maxxis tire which are supplied on the new RZR. How they perform ? I like the look of Mudlite XL, but how good they are on the hard surface or in sand ? And what about this 14 " Goodyears MTR on crusher wheels ? Will they make footprint wider, which I will actually want. And how they are in sand ? Sorry for so many Q's, but my delivery date for RZR is coming close.

The stock tires run great. I use them for the dunes, rock climbing, or just running down the pavement... and I'm pretty hard on them. You can buy new take offs pretty cheap, which is why I have a second set waiting till I wear out the originals. I know alot of people are trying to stay away from the heavier 14" wheels and tires. Everyone seems to like the 12's better. Everyone says the 7 paddle extremes and smoothie combo is the best set-up for the dunes. That's what I'll be purchasing next season. Hope that helps.

Re: Original Tires any good ?
I put the MTR's on crushers on my RZR. and my width now is 54" @ the rear. I cranked my suspension up two notched and with the tires I have 12" of clearance at the skid plates. As for traction I couldn't really tell ya, I just put them on on Friday and I only put on about 5 miles. They seem hook up really good on the dry stuff and not too bad in the deep snow(that may not matter to you). I really cant wait to test them out in the sand and mud. If they dont fair that well in those conditions I may go with MudLite XTR. Ill have some pics of the before and after shots with those crushers probly tomorrow.

Do you air them down for sand riding? And if so, on what PSI pressure you set them ?

Re: Original Tires any good ?
Around here we pay $100 for a set of take offs.
We run around 6-7 psi on dirt and 4 psi in the dunes. I think the stockers do pretty well in the dunes because they are lighter than most aftermarket tires. I'm running 12" maxxis 8 spoke wheels that are also fairly light and I believe are the 2-5 offset, which makes them 3" wider than stock....also using 1 3/4" spacers. So I'm almost 5" wider on each side and love the stability. It does put more pressure on your wheel bearings, but I ride pretty hard and need the width until I buy my long travel.

Re: Original Tires any good ?
The stock wheels and tyres are surprisngly lightweight, this gives them a great ride, despite being bias ply. The bias ply construction does make them more likely to make your RZR tip over though, IMO. I've found them to be surprisingly competent when the going gets rough.

Re: Original Tires any good ?
I have the crusher wheels with the goodyears and have gotten great performance out of them. I have done everything from rock crawling to sand to mud to trail riding on them and have had no issues with them. I also drive them on pavement to the store every once in a while and they do well there too. With regard to the stock tires, I nearly tore one of the cleats off the first time I went riding because I was crawling over some pretty sharp rocks...think they were actually flint. Right now I have a spare set of stock wheels and tires in the shop just in case and don't plan on getting rid of them. I think having them is a good idea for anybody.

Re: Original Tires any good ?
I have the Polaris Crushers with the Goodyear Rawhide MT/R and the only problem I'm having is the center area of the rear tires showing a lot of scrubbing. It looks like you have been riding in circles and burnt the nobbs off. Therye cracking and wearing fast. Fronts look good. Most all my riding is in a riverbottom. I only go about a block on pavement to the dirt. I also hear talk about same size tire on front as rear, the only thing I would check on is the gear ratio in front & rear diff's. I notice the frt tire has larger diameter than the rear. I would think Polaris might have a different ratio for frnt & rear so you don't have one axel turning faster than the other because of diameter of tires being different. One thing that sucks, my buddy has a new Rhino 700 with stock 12" and I hav gotten stuck 3 times in the same spot he makes it thru. Maybe I should put the stockers back on..C-Ya

Re: Original Tires any good ?
sounds like u need to lower your tire pressure. when overinflated tires will oblong @ speed & wear just in the center. opposite for under inflation, sides will wear first..

Not sure I understand what you're saying, but the stock front and rear tires are the same height, just different width, which will not affect your gear ratios.
