Polaris gas can

I bought the gas can holder for my RZR, but was told a Polaris stop selling the gas can which fit in it. Any idea, if somebody still sell them or have one for sale ? Or have any idea where to buy maybe different brand which will fit to the holder ? I try the Wal Mart, but their cans have different shape.

Re: Polaris gas can

I got mine from Checker for $4.99 and used a small tow strap......still cheaper than the $24.99 Polaris wanted and I believe they are no longer available from Polaris anyway

Re: Polaris gas can

I was having the same problem with wich gas can was the right can to use. A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon what is the best can I have seen in a long time. Bulldog ATV | UTV Carriers | ATV Carriers | RZR Accessories they have 1.5 gal can 2.5 gal can and a 5 gal can. I personally have the 2.5 gas can it is an all metal can that doesn't leak. Unlike the flat pack I had before. I also bought the mega siphon so I didn't even have to unstrap the tank to refill. I rode some pretty rough trails this last weekend and the can was great.

Re: Polaris gas can

I got two Scepter 2.5 gal cans from Checker Auto Parts for about $6 each. The cans have about 1/2" clearance all the way around inside the holder, but I haven't seen any issues with this. It sure beats the $30/can from Polaris.

You can buy the straps from Polaris at three times what they should cost. I got my straps with the quick release buckles from REI, but you should be able to get them anywhere that has a good selection of camping supplies.

Re: Polaris gas can

I had the same problem...Polaris says they are looking for a new vendor that will make a can to fit the holder. I found a 2 1/2 gal tank at Home Depot that comes close to fitting the holder. It is the correct width and just about 1" short on the length. The can is made by a company called Scepter and they have a web page Scepter - About Scepter
I use two regular bungy cords to hold it in place.
Good luck!!!

Re: Polaris gas can

I was able to find the 2.5 gallon Briggs & Stratton cans locally. I think they are 4.99. I could probably ship them to ya if you can't find any others. They are not CARB compliant.

I bought one 2.5 gal from Kragen/Checkers. it is little loose in holder, but I stick inside some camper rubber seal and work so far good.
