Newby here--I was wondering what are people storing in this compartment? With the drainhole in the bottom, I'm finding whatever is in there gets wet or dusty.

With a piece of duct tape you can take care of that pesky hole

You caan then store anything you want
I would imagine though you will also get some seepage from the top if you run thru a lot of puddles

flare gun- just for fun
Tools for your buddys with rhinos
Jumper cables

toilet paper - if you survive those oh shit deals

My work perfect only what I will change is the washer which hold the plastic knob. Washer get tight to the bottom of lid and you can;t turn the knob, I need to loose the washer first. Hopefully you know what I mean, but otherwise perfect.

OK waterjet guy is killing me price went up he says aluminum and fuel went up so the new price on the lids in 19.95 and we now have them powder coated Black for 24.95
