RZR Performance Upgrades

One of our Sponsered races was hurting in the power department so we tried some differnt stuff out Sorry no dyno and Vids it was dark out
Guessing his RZR is about 50pds heavier then stock he is also sponsered by
Polaris
Lonestar Racing- Racing Cage and bumpers, 4" Mid travel, Labor
Maxxis
OMF
Fullbore
Elka
ect ect ect
So we started with a Two Brothers Racing Single slip on Pipe took it for a ride and felt a noticeable bottom and mid range pull and I pulled out a new stock rzr and raced he pulled away from me by about 2 RZR lenghts
next we installed a K&N Filter in the stock air box raced again and no noticeable real gain and by real gain I mean real world racing down the street side by side change. "Thats all I care about im faster then you change" so next we installed a UTVCRAP.coms Clutch kit the same one I run in my personal rzr at the dunes and on the trails, and took out his clutch spacer and raced again and woohoo he was pulling me by about 4 to 5 lengths up to 55 mph "I still have the spacer in my stock rzr clutch" when he hit 65mph and I heard his rev limiter he was probley 6 to 7 lengths ahead of me, next we installed a MPI computer box and raced again and you could tell he was even futher ahead when he started bouncing off the rev limiter but due to cost we pulled the MPI box back off till we get out Two Brothers Racing Fuel Controller as we hear it the way to go......I really didnt want to hear the extra noise form a pipe as I have the two brothers duals on my rhino that I also know works well as I got a 4 mph on the top end when I installed it ......but I gota go faster so next time you see me Ill be running the same set up ...............

Two Brother single pipe
K&N filter with the stock outerwear on it
UTVCRAP.coms Clutch kit with the spacer Removed
and probley the Two Brothers Fuel control and MPI BOX

That black and red one makes me feel all tingly. When you say you are running a clutch kit what belt do you go with? I am wanting to do mine also;

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

Stock Belts our kits is designed to work with the stock belt EPI clutch kits are designed to work with thier heavyduty belt so you have to spend more money and you get a belt that makes more noise more heat so I stick with the stockers till somebody proves there is better

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

So from the read above the most bang for my buck will come from Two Bros slip on and your clutch setup, looks like about $600.00. Good call racing after each mod.

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

That is a cool rail. I had a mini LT rail with an R1 but I've never been in one like that, maybe someday. I'll talk with the bossman when he get's home about the clutch he wears the pants I just wash em. lol But he's been talking about it.

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

A few questions...

What's the install like, for the clutch kit? Is it fairly straight forward?

There's always "give and take" with most mods... so what, if any, downsides are there, to the clutch kit modification? Is it just designed to "close" faster, making the acceleration more brisk? Does it affect belt life?

Although it's designed to work with the stock belt, will aftermarket belts that are just designed as a replacement, work ok? I have a goodyear gatorback belt that I'd hate to have to part with!

Clutch kit sounds very tempting! On an otherwise stock machine, does the clutch kit make a big difference?

Sorry for all the questions... thanks for the answers!

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

yes it will work with any stock replacement belt the install is a pain in the back takes a couple of hours and you need torx and a clutch spring compressor

Re: RZR Performance Upgrades

With putting the pipe on do you have to run a Controller? You said you raced after just doing the pipe could you see a lean condition in that period of time. Will the RZR go to the lean side with adding the pipe and k&n ? I'm used to the quads where with these mods they usually would not run without re-jetting. Thank you James
