We are located about an hour and a half south of Indy we don't even mess with riding much here in Indiana, our group heads south to Tenn. (Brimstone) at least once a month for a long weekend of riding. Once you have rode down there it's hard to get interested in riding around here. We purchased land close to the trails so we can just unload and take off to the trails.

Re: Indiana riding

I live in martinsville indiana, never been to badlands but been to haspin years ago. Where is redbird in digger at? Anyone interested riding somewhere next weekend? We ride on about 200 acres and is nice but kinda boring when you ride day after day.

Re: Indiana riding

Is Brimstone better than Ride Royal Blue. I have a group that wants to make a trip this fall to either Ride Royal Blue or maybe Hatfield Mcoy. Hadn't heard much about Brimstone.

I'd recommended brimstone over royal blue and h&m. Neither of the others has challenging trails like brimstone. Look up trailsend campground there and stay with them. They are a great group and go out of their way to make sure you have a good time.

Re: Indiana riding

yes Brimstone is better than Royal Blue imo. I would also put Coal Creek OHV(WindRock) right up there with Brimstone if not better. I have been riding Coal Creek for 3 years and still am finding new trails.
I too live in indy and dont even ride there. I keep my rzr mostly in TN at my buddies house and try to ride once a month down there.

Re: Indiana riding

The group of us that is going is looking for more of a scenic ride more than a hit the hard trails ride. Does brimstone offer some easier trails also? How far is brimstone from RRB?

Yes Brimstone can accommodate for all types of riders at all skill levels. Royal Blue is only about 10 mins up the road from Brimstone.

If you're looking for scenic wide gravel and hard packed roads to do 40 MPH on all day I'd recommend royal blue or even h&m is about the same way, from what I've heard. Just depending on your style of riding. Brimstone has a good mix of trails but seems like even the blue ones has something tougher in the middle of it. Brimstone is probably my favorite riding spot.

Re: Indiana riding

Live in Indy and not a lot of offer around here. If you have been to Badlands, Haspin or Redbird once, that is enough. Have been down to Windrock and was a blast - hard to hit the same trail twice in 4 days of riding.

I hear good things about mid Michigan area, but not a lot other than sand and flat'ish trails, but the communities are very friendly to ORV'ers.

I am looking for somewhere to go this weekend within 3-4hrs drive from Indy if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks,

Re: Indiana riding

We live about an hour south of Bloomington. Went to Black Mountain in KY awhile back and we had a blast w all types of trails. There is about 5-6,000 acres of riding at Lynville which is about 70 minutes west of us on I64. Has everything from easy riding to "go at your own risk trails", mudholes of all sizes and depths, hills from small to extreme. Kinda tight for a 4-seater which is what we ride, and its always nice having someone in front of you so that way when u break over the hill they can tell u whether to stay to the left or right. It's alot easier on a ATV but still a blast on a RZR. All you need is your ATV or UTV registered through the DNR
