Toy hauler Patio Room

I want to add a DIY patio room on my toy hauler ramp. Dealer wants about $1600 for the kit. Has anyone made one or have any ideas of how to go about making side rails? I saw this post on Rv.net about hanging the door. Just need some Ideas of the sidewalls. RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Toy Haulers: Ramp Door Patio

Anyone have any experience with this patio room? Xtend-A-Room: Standard - Dometic 954086.000 - Patio Awning Rooms - Camping World

Re: Toy hauler Patio Room

We usually just put 2 jacks under the ramp, and done. Patio chairs out, and it was like $20.. hahah

Re: Toy hauler Patio Room

I have done some brain storming and I think Im going to use pvc pipe, deer fence and adjustable flag pole holders to make the side walls. Ill have to post some pictures when I get it done.

Re: Toy hauler Patio Room

if you are gonna make one you need to find all the stuff in the photo.
Mine has not been used although the white alum vertical parts that mount to the hauler sides were installed possibly from the factory. Look close in the rear photo.

$1600 seems about right.

Re: Toy hauler Patio Room

Last 2 toyhaulers I have bought I had the dealer throw these in for me.....tried to put both of them up...and well....got bored with it and realized that it wasn't worth the pain...so sold both of them. If you get one good luck with the install / set up.

We have the Add A room and used it once. We only use the canopy and ramp with the cables now and only at the beach. The desert winds would turn it into a kite. Same with the Add A Room. If I did it again I would just do the cables at the ramp and buy an EZ up. You could always just add plastic tarprs to the sides if you wanted to.

Re: Toy hauler Patio Room

when i first saw mine I was trying to think just what to use it for.
It only blocks the sun a couple hours of the day or is this another RV secret. The seasoned RV people remember southern exposure when they pick a spot.

regarding the EZ up, i just bought a pair of the competitor brand "Quest".
Checkout girl at Dick's Sporting Goods asked if i wanted the addl 1-year warranty for $8. I said yes. You know those things are gonna fold in half after the third use. With tax less than $150. Didn't get the side curtains.
