Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
I have a few pieces of advice...
1. Don't trust what the sticker says.
2. Don't trust what the trailer dealer tells you your truck can pull.
3. Don't go to the maximum of what your truck can pull because it will do it poorly and cause too much wear and tear.

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
I have a 2008 Weekend Warrior FS2500 that I origionally pulled with a Land Rover LR3. It pulled like a champ. I never fully loaded it but it did ok. Got 10 mpg most places with 400ex in it. Since it was a lease we just took it back. We picked up the new Toyota Sequoia and it pulls great. Love the 5.7 they put in there. Took the trailer out last weekend with the 400 and the RZR and it did great. Have to say the air bags are a must for towing. The rover and the toy have them.

remember when it comes to rv's, you get what you pay for... there is no such thing as a cheap rv that has a damn bit of quality workmanship in it. that was one of the main things that sold me on the heartland razor, the workmanship is second to none.
My new bumper pull toy hauler will carry 2 rzr's/1 quad standing up or 1 rzr/3 quad's standing up. It is a '09 Heartland Razor 2650TT and it pulls perfectly behind my wifes '08 1/2 ton Yukon XL with 5.3L and 3.73 gears. I am easily able to haul at 65mph and little effort from the yukon. i did add the timbren ses kit in the rear to help level the vehicle. they are cheap (less than $200) and took maybe 10 minutes to install. I didnt even have to remove the rear wheels. i would recommend a very good weight distribution hitch (i.e. Equal-i-zer 4 point sway control hitch).
I also have a '05 2500HD 4x4 crew cab short bed truck with the 6.0L &4.10's and it seems that it requires far more effort than my yukon does to haul the same exact trailer with the same weight. i also added the timbren ses kit to the truck.
i would stay away from weekend warrior/ragen until they get there financial woes solved. a buddy of mine has a brand new '08 ragen and is unable to anything warrantied let alone a return call from anyone at weekend warrior.
i hope this helps, good luck!

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
I have a Weekend Warrior Supercross SXFB and I pull it with a 2003 Ford Supercrew 4x4 4in lift and 35's. I make it up the "5" to Hungry Valley (Gorman) no problem. The RZR can only go in foreward to fit in the trailer. There's a little more weight on the tail end past the axle's because the engine is at the very back. Can't back it in because of the brush guards. The supercross works for me since I have a 1/2 ton pick-up.

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
I'm a 1/2 ton truck owner and don't see the need to have a 3/4 ton for the 5 - 10 times I would use it a year JMO.
Dunesport.com is who Ive been checking out. They make a 14'ers all the way up 30'ers. Hieght is about 6'. I would think 14' to 21' would be optimal for a 1/2 ton truck. Heres is thier web site a pic of the 14'er.
Anybody have any personal experience with these haulers?

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
If anyone is looking for a real lite toy hauler, I saw one on line under 7000.00 plus tax of course, it has one axle, I think it's 16' only sleeps 2 no b-room but has outdoor shower. I saw it on craig' list in the Ventura county section. You got to search back several days but it has pic's & specs. Looks perfect for towing behind a small pk-up or suv.

MujZeptu
You really should take BigSilly450X advise and go to the toy hauler section at RV.NET and become a member and educate yourself on this subject, if you are going to spend a large some of money on a new toy ( Yes your Toy hauler will become your best Toy ) then you really need to take your time and see what is out there.
PS the sales people will tell you anything Research
Here is the link RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Toy Haulers
Best of luck

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
I have a similar question but in terms of size of Rzr S. I currently have a 16' West Coast Charger Toy Hauler (about 3300 lbs unloaded but has all the amenities- full bath, kitchen, pull down queen, table and coach, etc.). Loaded with a Quad atm (and water, etc.) it weighs less that 4900 lbs. I actually pull it with a Trailblazer SS with no problems (max tow capacity 7800). I am looking at a Razor S though to replace the quad. My question- what is the width of the S from outside of front tire to outside (I know the specs list it at 60' but wondering where that is measured)? Also what is the distance from the outside of the tire to the end of the lugnuts (i may need to put on a skinny tire to get it in the 58' clearance between my bathroom and the other wall)? Curious to see if I can get a Rzr S in there (I know the stock one will fit but I want the long travel).
May be an answer to both questions. The Charger is really a nice trailer- picked it up used for $9000 (for a 2007 model). And extremely easy to tow behind just about any vehicle.

Re: best light toy hauler for 1/2 tons that can fit a Rzr (mainly hieght)??
This is a pretty old thread but in case there are any out there with the same question, here is my new setup. It's a Thor Vortex 19' Front Kitchen. The workmanship is top notch and it tows great. The dry weight was stated at 4900# but with the RZR loaded, full of water, fuel and typical coolers & crap it weighed 7129#. My Tahoe has a factory tow rating of 7000#. I added assist airbags that tuck into the coil springs but I really dint think they do anything since the load leveling hitch balances the whole thing out so well. I now put the coolers in the Tahoe and typically only take 1/2 - 3/4 of a load of water unless we go for more than 3 days (130 gal total capacity). I think the big thing is to have your trailer brakes set well. I always take a test spin around the block before we head out and make sure that the trailer brakes do the work to stop the whole set up but do not grab.
