Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

Is anyone having issues with their trailer? We have a Weekend Warrior and the service from the Dealership as well as the factory is horrible. This is our third WW trailer and we happy with the first two. The last one is a LEMON.

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I have a new mid line enclosed Haulmark. No issues so far, but I found out that if I need service on the axles the dealer wont do anything cause the axles arent Haulmark. And have to drive to IN where they are made to have them serviced
Not a far drive for me though.

I am thinking about a toyhauler but dont know where to start?

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I had a few issues but one of the local dealers fixed everything under warrenty. I'm pretty happy with my WW. I think their all junk really. I'll be looking and KZ and Jayco brands next time around but I might just keep mine after I have it paid off (7 more years) since we don't use it all that much. If the rest of the family gets fired up to use it well I'll be getting the "latest and greatest". Just hate paying $359 per month and not using the thing. Still I love my trailer...

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

As far as I heard, WW is not doing very good with Class Action law suits and too many warranty complains. Go to RV.net for more info.

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I think one of the reasons WW gets so many complaints on the forums is they amount out on the market. Most of the other brands have very little market penetration compared to WW so you don't hear much about them. I agree that all these trailers are poorly put together, but that's what happens when the low skilled workers are only getting minimum wage or worse.

My WW needed a few things fixed, but the quality of the WW compared to something like a Hobby is comparing a BMW to a KIA. If you want to feel good about the build quality of your WW just check out a Hobby.

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I just went to a RV show as I am still trying to decide what to buy. I like the layout of the Weekend Warrior Full Throttle but I have heard so many bad stories that I am just not that comfortable with wood framing on the sides and roof. Poor build quality is usually a comment that I hear and read about Weekend Warrior trailers.

The Fusion 393.5 is also on my list but I hate the bathroom as I would prefer a sink in the same room as the toilet. But it has large tanks, a large 14ft garage and the all important; washer dryer prep.

I would appreciate any comments and information that you would provide to help me make my decision. I prefer a 3 slide and no longer that 40 foot.

Thanks
RJ

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

We have a WW CR3905 that we live in and it has held up well, but getting things fixed is a different story. I have seen some WWs that were put together poorly? Anybody want to buy a trailer?

2002 SLC 3905, NO PROBLEMS OTHER THAN MAINT FAILURES ON MY PART. I THINK THEIR REPUTATION HAS A LOT TO DO WITH MARKET PENETRATION AS WAS SAID BEFORE. I REALLY WISH THOUGH, THAT i COULD GET A TRUE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE UPON DELIVERY, INSTEAD OF THE "DRY WEIGHT BEFORE OPTIONS"

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I presently have a Komfort Karry-All which I can carry my RZR and Two Quads in the garage...I have an order in for a custom Newmar X-Aire...we haul toys all over the US and ride all the major dunes from Glamis to Oklahoma to West Texas to New Mexico...the X-Aire is the best on the market right now except for the Elite Toyhauler or getting a New Horizon custom built...they can give you 2 X 20 gal fuel tanks, seperate bathroom...Exclt Insulation...and you can find them around $75k right now...The Karry-All is a great unit and we have really enjoyed it but Komfort has no plans of building anymore (they did have drawings drawn up and decided not to produce it)...Mine is in the engineering stage as I have added several features that they don't offer standard: Sliding Glass Garage Door...Over head storage like the Karry-All, Ramp that will be suspended for a backporch with an awning over it...G Rated Tires...Larger Fresh Water tank for dry camping in the dunes...Overhead storage in the garage also...the separate bathroom for us is a must...Fold Down Couch and Fold Down Dinette (They make out into two twin beds)in the garage instead of electric beds that block walking out onto the backporch (the ramp)...they do have 3 X 6k axles on back and a Mor-Ryde Hitch...

I agree Weekend Warrior is very poorlly engineered and out of wood...my Komfort Karry-All has the Aluminum Super Structure as well as the X-Aire...KZ Sportsters have Wood roofs...the Fusion is very poorly made...keep in mind MOST of the Toyhaulers are made for people who travel 2-3 hrs to get to a camping spot on Friday...ride Friday and Saturday and pull home on Sunday....
The Komfort and the X-Aire are made for full timing basically...we have 70k miles on our Komfort Karry-All and she is still going strong...if we had a WW it would be all to pieces by now...we do like the design and floor plan of the WW Full Throttle, but it is not built for cross country driving...the KZ Escalade Sportster is full aluminum frame also unlike the KZ Sportster...Elite's toyhauler is also a nice Full Timing Unit but the floor plan is poor...
Hope this doesn't sound like a "knowitall" because I don't I have studied these units for the past 5 years and have reseached thoroughly...my Bro-In-Law sold his KZ Sportsmen back to KZ under the Lemon Law...it was way nicer than my Komfort on the interior but was poorly-cheaply constructed...leaks and problems...bedroom slide would push the whole wall out when he slid it out....

RJ search Google under X-Aire 40CKSH it is probably the floorplan you want...we think so much alike...worth checking out...the Newmar Website just doesn't do justice to the unit but it does have a decent shot of the floorplans...

It was disappointing to hear that Fuzions are poorly made. I am starting to get burned out on doing research, but I know better than to quit now. I know that Newmar makes a very good motor home and the people that I meet in the RV parks, that have one, always sing its praises.

I looked at an X-Aire when I went to the Pomona RV show last fall, but I had put it lower on my list because it only had a 105 gal fresh water tank. In between suffering with a poorly made 5th wheel and 105 gal of fresh water, the water issue, is no issue at all. Until I read your post, I did not know that Newmar would do anything custom.

I put about 18,000 miles on my motor home last year and I know, for instance, that the Calif. roads will shake a poorly made unit, to death. I value your opinion and I am going to place Newmar high on my list.

I am trying to get ready to take my motor home to Southern Calif. in a couple of weeks. The only dealer that carries the Newmar X-Aire is across the Puget Sound from Seattle. I may have better luck in Calif. I will probably PM you later about the custom options that you are having and pricing. It does sound like Newmar is the way to go.

Re: Does your Weekend Warrior Work Live Up?

I agree RJ they are looking at the installation of minimum 120 to 150 gallon tank...their engineering sure is taking their sweet time, but I am glad that means they are doing their homework....

RJ have you saw a cut-away of the Fuzion's fabrication? They haven't either (Keystone)...The 393 Fuzion is only rated for 16,500 lbs and around 3360 lbs cargo capacity...add 139 gals of water = 1158 lbs = 2200 lbs remaining CCC - 1000 lbs for RZR = 1200 lbs - 500 lbs for 5.5 Gen = 700 lbs - 30 gallons fuel (195 lbs) = 505 lbs for your food, clothes, riding gear, chairs, camping accessories...not to mention installing a Dryer & Washer and thats with one air conditioner also...I ask them the rating on their Fifth Wheel Hitch and they couldn't tell me what it was...I made 6 phones calls to Dealers that didn't know and finally a Factory Rep that didn't know either (I suspect it 18k?)...The factory rep also guessed that the axles were 3 X 6k but wasn't sure...the insulation was R11 roof, R9 walls, R17 Floor...get this the load rating is based off a Lippert Frame with only 10" I-Beams...the Lippert Frame is a good frame but 10" I-Beams on a Toyhauler that will be carrying max load is pretty high expectations...the factory rep did not know what kind of springs were on the Ramp Door he said they were "good ones"...the Ramp is rated for 1500 lbs...very low rating if you load you RZR with Winches and accessories and you drive it up the ramp you will basically be overloading their ramp?! 30 gallons of fuel will only last about 3 days the 5.5 Gen will use 5 gals a day = 15 gals the RZR will use 7.5 gals a tank and we used 2 tanks in three days in the dunes that puts you carrying additional fuel and insuring you fill the RZR before you leave home...the Factory Rep did not know if the roof was wood or pressed steel bolted to the Aluminum Framed Side Walls? The unit is probably not all bad, but definitely not a Full Time Frame like you would want for longevity...the 10" I-Beams will only take the maximum weight for so long and start to deform...two recalls on the Fuzion already for Propane Line routing and possibility of fire...Custom Hitch or Suspension is not available

The X-Aire has 12" I-Beams...R21 Roof R8 Walls R24 Floors...21k FW Hitch Rating...19K GVWR rating...2 X 20 gallon Fuel tanks...4245 lbs Cargo Capacity...Ramp is rated for 3000 lbs...Mor-Ryde Supension...Mor-Ryde hitch...Dexter 6k Axles with EZ Lube...Ducted Air Conditioning...Electric Stabilizer Jacks...5 year Structural Warranty...All Aluminum Frame Roof and Walls....Water Filtration System...Central Vacuum...Floor Safe...Electric Awning...Etc...more options than you would want...

I was surprised the Fuzion only had 3 Options available...the Fuzion is still better than the WW for my part...
