Re: Cargo trailer / camper?
Just my 2 cents and remember he's a salesman! Boy I hear ya on the milage. I have a diesel and at $4.58 a gallon it's a big deal. But I don't worry about when I tow/play. I figure if I'm going worry about the mileage then I might as well sell my toys!

Re: Cargo trailer / camper?
The only problem being,if you wreck, get pulled over by a picky cop, or someone else runs in too you and they find your vehicle to be exceeding it's gvwr or your rated tow weight, you could get in some real serious trouble....
Just curious...What kind of driving do you do daily, and what mpg are you getting?

Re: Cargo trailer / camper?
18-20 mpg around town.
I cant see exceeding tow weight...(6500lbs).....rzr=1000 lbs , eton 70=240lbs
plus trailer weight and camping stuff

Re: Cargo trailer / camper?
USMCSKI...I'm in the middle of converting my 32ft V-Nose into what I call a "Velvet-ASS" trailer(grin). After all the time I spent in the "Sand" I swore that I would do what it takes to be as comfortable as possible with my toys(grin).
I'll post some progress picts soon. It's a ton of work, but I'll get what I want and know how to fix it when the time comes. It's all part of the fun!

remember he's a salesman. do your own research, there are a ton of tacoma forums. I have however heard good things about them (tacomas) & their towing capacity. make sure you cruise by a scale & get weighed with whatever route you decide to take, & make sure your gvcwr is not exceeded.
Good luck

I'll throw my 2 cents in here. I have a 2006 Explorer with the 292hp V8 and 6 speed auto trans with the tow package. Tow rating is like 7500lbs.
I had a 7x16 enclosed with a WDH with sway bars, elec. trailer brakes and it still didnt feel safe. I had over 5000lbs (W/trailer weight) in there once and it pulled and stopped fine. BUT if a semi or something similar passes you youre screwed. The trailer is basically larger and heavier then the pull vehicle so it wins. Same thing when its empty. The wind is just to much. I pulled a 6x12 and no problems. I think you need a wider heavier vehicle for these bigger trailers.
Now if you drive slow (65mph and under) you might be ok. But with AZ having speed limits of 65 to 75 I think its dangerous to run 65mph in a 75mph zone. IMHO
