LT versus Shocks

O.K. for me it's important to switch back to 50 inch width so I can ride a few select trails so I just remove the off-set tire/rim assembly I have off my Sportsman and install the stockers.

I have some AFCO's that I absolutely love but I'm curious as to what I give up by not having the Long Travel other than some stability and more clearance when I'm not on 50 inch trails?

I do abuse my Holz skid plates because of clearance issues but I sure would hate to give up riding the narrow trails.

I have not tested AFCOs but I am sure they work good and I know you have good mechanical knowledge with mid travel you are going to gain approximately 4 inches of travel and add maybe a couple inches of ground clearance but making that 50 inches of width will be a task. With long travel your going to gain 6 to 8 inches of travel maybe 3 to 4 inches of ground clearance and kiss the 50 inches of width goodbuy. The mid and long travel kits are going to take the big hits and large whoops much better in perportion to the kit itself and of coarse make the RZR more stable and some kits help with frame strength. Decisions decisions??

Yep,I think I'll have to stay with what I have on this one.
But I'm just dyeing to try the whoops and corners with some long travel.

Your kit is righteous, that's for sure.

If you choose to give up the 50" trails and go wider, use the LSR 4" MTS or any other kit that utilizes the stock length shocks and you can use your AFCO's as is. Maybe a spring change depending on the ride height you desire.

Re: LT versus Shocks

Has anybody done a video of a LT versus the AFCO's?
If it's close enough, I won't worry about it.
If it's huge, I'll LT my other RZR.

That's what I was afraid of, I guess I'll just have to decide.

I'll tell you right now, those AFCO's are GREAT, but there is no replacement for travel. Period! I believe those 4" over kits are the best thing you could do if you are into the dunes and the desert or anywhere you can run flat out without width restrictions.
