Gorilla +6 axles/CV setup ok for any +6 LT kit ???

I will explain the details of this when I finally get around to taking pics and do my informal review of the UTV Crap LT kit and install, but I did damage one front and two rear outer CV's. This LT install really fought us along with alot of bad luck and not really the best tools for the job ... probably should have just paid John to do it right but it was a good learning experience. Anyways, either in the process of having to beat the CVs back onto the new axle and/or beating the whole new pieced together axle assembly back into the diffs we managed to crush the carriage bolt thread ends/end of CVS primarily due to the fact they are weak due to the cotter pin hole drilled in near the end. Two we were able to chase with a file to work the bolt on but the other one we had to cut down. So, to avoid this whole CV axle swapping mess, etc. again I was wondering if the +6 Gorilla axles would work with the UTV Crap +6 and other +6 LT kits or if there is more to it. It might actually be worth it for others considering kits without the complete replacement to do this also to avoid the hassles. Anyways, I know this is kinda the exception and very costly but I am just curious if it would be an option.

When some of our techs have less than ideal tools for replacing the CV's I have them install CV spline caps (sold by Snap On I think). They are a pretty nice tight fitting aluminum cap which can be pried and moved about fairly roughly while installing and not damage the splines on the CV assembly.
I'm curious though, can't the CV's be installed while the arms are being installed to avoid forcing them in later?
I know on auto's we want to avoid the labor of removing the control arms for installation.

We have found that alot of people have a harder time with the RZR cv installs than with the Rhino cv installs I really reccomend taking them to any local repair shops that normally do cv joint repair or replacement and make sure they are timed were the center star is lined up on each end of the axle. If you want to go with Gorrillas that is a great way to go but pricey I would only do th rears!!

Yeah, they dont at all just slip on ... yeah have to beat them in. They dont just slip back into the diffs either when done with the CV/axle exchange ... yeah have to beat on the CV ends here too to get them back into the diff. Never done CVs before but I did hear the RZR is like nothing else ... and indeed it was a PITA.

Re: Gorilla +6 axles/CV setup ok for any +6 LT kit ???

If the a-arms are a true exact 6" over stock, then the gorrilla axles that are 6" longer should work on any true 6" kit. The cv joints and boots are larger, so there may be some contact on the a-arms at max travels or something. The gorrillas have a lot of available angle and more plunge than any stock cv joint set up, so if the kit will work with stock cv's it will work with gorrilas provided there is clearance for the boots etc.

We have done plenty of swaps.. some come apart great (like they should) and some are a complete pain in the ass, to the point where cutting and machining get involved to remove the stock axle shafts from the cv's, and having to remove the balls and cages to get them apart. We have found it's hit or miss on them.

Re: Gorilla +6 axles/CV setup ok for any +6 LT kit ???

Well, I did the Gorilla swap as i broke one of my CV cages and had lingering concerns over the others a smentioned in other posts. Spoke with Johnny of UTV Crap and XMS and both verified their kit is true +6. So, purchased a set of the +6 Gorillas from JaggedX as they also use them with their LT Kit and got them installed last night. Everything fit, is a bit beefier, and on quick test run all seemed good.
