Ground Clearance
Went on trail ride today and beat the hell out of bottom of RZR. What can I do to get more clearance without going to wide or losing stability. I have a set of 14'' ITP series 7 w/XTR's off of my King, but don't know if that is the way to go with adapters or not. I ride mostly woods, rocks, mud, snow and mountains on East Coast (Not Sand). Thanks for any suggestions

Re: Ground Clearance
idrod, a stiffer spring will help but usually takes away ride comfort. Some guys are using shock spacers.
I went with some AFCO shocks and it made a HUGE difference and I get tons better control over the whoops.
After installing a good set of skid plates, I've never looked back.

Re: Ground Clearance
I had the same problem the first time we took our RZR out, after that first ride I was looking for a way to increase the ground clearance without adding width.
I ended up with a rubberdown 2" lift and a new set of ITP Wheels and 25" bighorn tires. The wheel offset pushed the width to about 53" rear the rear is about the same width as than the factory rock sliders.
Most of my riding is under 20MPH so I have both front and rear sway-bars disconnected. With the lift I'm running +1 notch on the factory shock pre-loads.

Re: Ground Clearance
Hey everyone Im new here but this is a subject that I wish to get some info on like who has the best lift kit and does it ride rough after installed like makeing your front end bounce and your back hurt and can the king shocks be adjusted to lift the razor up and still provide a plush ride on the trails.I am a KY boy so all I know is rough trails like rocks and roots WINDROCK is a favorite so I have to keep the factory a arms for a narrow machine.Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Ground Clearance

Re: Ground Clearance
For a quick fix, turn the front shocks all the way up and one notch on the back, makes a big difference. And it still rides great.

Re: Ground Clearance
I have highlifter lift kit ($259) its nice and thick. this kit will hold up.i also put hunterwors front spring spacers in ($65). i run motorsposrt -43 off set 12 inch torq rims ($400) and 27 inch mud light tires ($400) this set up gives me a full 13 inchs of ground clearance. my underbody skid plate has 13 inchs. front a arms at lowest point have 9 inchs and rear a arms have 10 inchs. i went with 12inch rims so i would have more tire hitting rocks. this way my rims will look good for a long time. if you go with mud light tires thay will be light enough so you can keep ground hp i picked 27 inch tire because thay were tall enough and mounted on torq rims thay had about the same weight as stock. i went with -43 rims so i dont need spacers. less weight less parts and the deep dish looks bad -ss. my front shocks are turned up all the way. and my rear are up three notches. i won a small mud bog at an articat dealer without front spring spacers installed. the mud was thick and heavy and my springs needed a little help to keep ground clearance. the spacers give me one and a qurter inch ground clearane and stiffer springs. the rzr is a great bogger. there was vary little water and the mud was deep enough to take out kawi brute 750 with 27 inch mud lights and hmf pipe. it also took out polaris 800 with 27 inch 589. the owner put a prowler in the bog when it got stuck i pulled next to him stoped said hi and drove out. when thay got the pussy-cat out iwanted to get the rzr stuck so i picked up my friend harps and backed through the mud bog. i never got stuck the look on the owners face was priceless. i bet there where no sales on pussy- cats that day. this mud bog wasent as deep as pro bogs but it was water free and deep enough to take none pro units out. i think two or three more inchs and i would have trouble.
