Roktek "3" inch lift review

Hi guys, Just bought a 3 inch lift from roktek and havent seen any real reviews so I figured I'de throw my 2 cents out there.

Quality/Instalation-10/10
Very easy to install and the support from kevin at call me 24/7 is awesome. Took me and a buddy a little less than anhour of work time to complete full lift and spacer installation. (2 hours if you count the drinking time and stuff :P)

after lift ride-8/10
I couldnt belive it rides just as smooth as off the showroom floor. It would have recieved a 10/10 but you have to factor in the little bit of extra tip and body roll on fast corners.

true lift--4/10
Well the question i asked myself before i bought the lift... "Is it a true 3 inches"?
No, I installed lift with all my previous shock settings on 5 and made a full list of hieghts and measurements before i started.
Installed the lift and left all shock settings on 5 to see what i was getting for "true Lift".
In the front i gained about 1- 7/8 inches. In the rear i gained 2 inches.

so after some testing and double checking i have found that the only way to get 3 inches out of this lift is if you start with all shocks on setting 1 before lift and all shocks on setting 5 after lift and you still dont get a full 3 inches in rear.

So in my opinion priced about the same as a quality 2 inch lift you cant go wrong. Quality craftmanship, great quality service and ease of instalation is a breeze.
but if you are looking for a true 3 inches and leaving suspension at what is was on before lift installation your only going to get around 2 inches

Mike

P.S I am in no way bashing or down talking this product, Just giving a little review with what i found after installation. I love the outcome of the lift and the ride it provides.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

Thanks for the great review Mike. For those of us on the forum that are not real familiar with mechanical work this is good insight. I have been looking at the different lift kits for a while now and have been trying to decide between the Rubberdown and the Roktek. I wasn't sure I wanted a full 3" and was leaning towards the Rubberdown so that I stayed closer to the tolerance limits of the CV's and axles, but maybe it wasn't as much of a concern as I thought it might be.

It would be interesting to see what the results from a Rubberdown lift are. Anyone out there measure before and after on the Rubberdown?

I am glad to hear you are happy with it. I got mine in the mail last week but have not installed it yet. Maybe Friday as I have the day off. I will report back what I find with mine.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

It has been too many drinks since then but I recall the 2" lift was closer to 2" than the stated numbers for the 3" just mentioned.
Not a pissing match, to each there own. I am happy with my Rubberdown lift, it is simple and well made, I run 1.5 Holz spacers, might have went with 2.0 if available then. I have installed WER shocks and am frustrated to not be able to try them out as of yet.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

Hello Rzr in NH. If you installed the front aluminum spring spacers with the lift and adjusted your stock adjusters it will put you up around 13.5 to 14 inches of ground clearance. I think stock is around 10 to 11 stock.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

Also what did your rzr measure stock before installing lift. Because about 13.5 -14.5 would be your max height depending tire inflation size of tire etc. If your rzr has no weight like winch or bumpers and sat at 12 inches already that might be why it didnt go much higher. If you have winches and bumpers and worn out springs and are sitting a 9 inches in the front, after lift install you will gain like 4-5 inches because with spacers and lift you will be at least at 13.5 ground clearance.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

I have a 09, i run 26 inch mudlights and i run 10 psi in them.

I made multiple before and after measurements, and my shock adjusters were on 5 before and after lifyt to see what i got for true lift, the most i got on any measurement was in the front(due to spacers) i got 2 1/8 inches.

Like i said im not upset i love the lift. Just noticed the only way to get a true 3 inches is if before lift all shocks on level 1 and after lift all shocks on 5.

For anyone looking for lift i installed a roktek and have a friend with a 2 inch rubberdown.. They are both great lifts and kevin at roktek was great when i called for a question at 9 o clock at night. and ive heard nothing but good things about rubberdown service too.

so before you buy just research a lil into each and see which one will suit your needs better.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

I have the Rubberdown lift installed... I can say it gave me at least 2" lift.... Ive put about 60miles on the lift so far. i should add that i measured before and after the install. Before the lift, i had the shocks cranked all the way up, i am getting at least 2" of lift with the shocks turned all the way down now... Im happy with it so far....

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

Here are some pics of my Roktek install. (This is with 25" Big Horn Radial tires) The rear was at 11" before with the preloads set at mid range. The front was at 11.5" before with the preloads set at mid range. The rear after is 13" with the preloads still at mid range. The front is now 13.5" with the preloads set at the lowest setting. I appologize but the rear before pic did not turn out. I would guess that preload adj. will add enough to have the complete 3" at both front and back if needed. The complete install was about 2.5 hrs, but I was doing a few other things at the time also. Pretty easy install and the lift looks like top quality material. Took me almost as much time to unpack it as to install it. I will be adding 1-1/2" rear wheel spacers because it did bring the rear wheels in quite a bit. They are at about 48.5" and the tires are real close to the frame. I am a little concerned about the angle of the rear axles, but per Rotek the 3" lift kit leaves them well within acceptable limits. I will be watching that real close.

This is what Roktek says about the angle of cv joints and suspension parts.

ROKTEK
This auction is for a Brand New 2009 Polaris Ranger RZR 3 inch Lift Kit. This is the best kit on the market. It gives your rzr the ground clearance so you dont bottom out all the time. This kit is the first and only kit to offer a 3 inch lift for the 2009 model and has the ability to disconnect the front sway bar just like the jeeps do for rock crawling. This is a profesional cnc machined kit that has 3/16 cold roll steel that helps strengthen the rzr frame. Unlike other kits that are not tested, these lift plates will relocate your suspension for the best ride possible while keeping every part including cv's, steering linkage, A-arms, at a very safe limit not causing any danger to stock components. With this kit you will have everything included and need nothing else. Roktek lift kits are very easy to install and just as simple to take back off in case you need to go in for warranty work. Dont be fooled by imitators who try to sell you a cheap knock off version. This kit is the best there is and we back it with a 100% Lifetime Warranty. Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

HI all ,
here is my 2 cents ,
I installed the same 3inch kit , took about an hr , fairly easy . The ride never seemed to change much , rims n tires coming this week and it has been wayyyy 2 cold to be out having fun this last few weeks up here .
All said n done gave about 2.5 lift with out the spacers with shocks fully adj'd .
i am happy with the out come so far .

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

any updates from you guys running this lift? If you jack the rzr rear tires off the ground can you still rotate the wheels easily or does it bind the cvs. Ive found with standard 2'' lifts it lets the suspension drop to dangerous angles that if your rear wheel drops can break a axle or cv. This kit says it limits over travel to safe limits. Would really like someone with one to check and let us know if thats true.

Re: Roktek "3" inch lift review

I have been running the roktek lift for 5 months and have had zero issues. No cv binding what so ever.Even with the rear jacked up I can easily rotate the wheels.

Do you need spring compressor to install the 3 inch roktek kit?
