Broken Rear Sway Bar

Has anyone else broken their rear sway bar? I thought it was a solid piece of Spring steel but found different this weekend at Glamis. It is a piece of welded pipe. It came apart on the passenger side right at the bushing all along the seam. It is at the dealer now getting replaced.

Oh and while I think of it check your rubber bump stops on the shocks. I had the driver side front fully split and the passenger side front started.

I am running the stock shocks at 1 Knotch before Max.

I've heard a few mention that rubber spacer, maybe it's time for another look on my stock machine.

Add me to the list. Noticed it was handling funny this weekend, checked and my rear sway snapped at the bend on the passenger side as well. No jumping or anything, not sure how it happened. And 4 days before the warranty expired!

Re: Broken Rear Sway Bar

That's a new one to me. I'm sure it handles bad without the back sway bar.

Re: Broken Rear Sway Bar

Add me to the list. I was creek crawling yesterday having a blast. Noticed later in the day that the right side felt a little more top heavy than normal. Didn't think anything of it. Unloaded it late last night and went to bed. Go out to the garage this morning to do my usual walk around and notice that I broke the sway bar in two on the passenger side.

Glad I can say I was riding hard when it happend though and not just taking it easy like some other unlucky RZR owners.

And once again this is another common problem that I did not know about until mine broke and I searched for it here on the forum.

Does anyone know if they make quick disconnects for the rear sway bar so that I can undo them while rock crawling?

Re: Broken Rear Sway Bar

someone was talking about the RZR S having a stronger sway bar. Lets see some pics if you have the new RZR S.

Re: Broken Rear Sway Bar

Ok so I took off my broken rear sway bar and welded it back together. The metal is really thin though so dont know how well it will hold since it already been weakened.

Figured I would give it a test drive while it was off. Remind you I still have the fronts on. I absolutely loved it. I do mostly trail riding, hill climbs, and rock crawling. It feals more like my race quad now. When entering a corner fast the rear wheels seem to stay on the ground more while the front wheel now comes up when going to fast. Kind of like it though. Im going to drive it like this for a while and see how it does. I know if I was riding 40+ all the time that this would be stupid but almost all my riding is through tight trails.

Is anyone riding without front or back? and do I risk tweaking parts by not have the rear sway bar on?

Thanks
Travis
