Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

As far as the front do this. All you need is a clevis pin and drill a hole in the bottom shock bolt and you have a quick disconnect. Easy on, easy off.

Jerrzr,
What is keeping the rod from flopping around on rough terrain when you have it disconnected?

Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

My question is about the sway bar itself. Is there an easy way to remove it other than disassembling the entire front end? See picture for clarification.

I wondered that myself while looking at mine last night but forgot to ask. That goes for the rear sway bar also. If you remove it you are removing a couple exhaust pipe support points.

Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

I'll also add that I was not a fan of removing the front sway bar when I was running the stock shocks due to the body roll at high speed. After I installed WER shocks I had issues with having the sway bar arms attached to the shock mount making a loud bang noise when on rough, uneven terrain. Come to find out, the sway bar arm/tie rod was acting as a limiter to the shocks rebound. I actually snapped the drivers side sway bar arm/tie rod at the top mounting point. I removed the broken sway bar tie rod and the passenger one entirely and have been running it without any ill effect. In fact, I have less body roll now and I think the WER shocks are the reason.

IMHO, if you are running stock shocks and drive at high speed, the sway bar is a good thing. If you are running aftermarket shocks, the Rzr does fine if not better at high speeds without the sway bar both on and off road. YMMV.

Without having to take apart the front end the only easy way i see is to remove the hood insert and cut the stabilizer bar in half. Then remove it from both sides.

Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

I made last week a double quickrelease for the frontswaybar. But in order to make it quick and easy i brought the topconnection to the outside. I don't know if i make a problem to do that. (did'nt drive it yet)
Has someone a idea about that???
here some pic's.

Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

this might sound dumb but what are you doing if you "adjust" your sway bar, if you do have an aftermarket one???

Re: Front swaybar removal Pros & Cons

I took it out for the dunes and did not like it...the spacers made it a lot nicer without the sway...but I will trade the snap steering for the heavy lean....JMOT...
