Re: HL Springs question

to answer my own question about wheels and tires... i got my Rzr today and put the wheels/tires on , they fit just fine, no rubbing issues at motor mount so far. With the Rzr on a jack, fully extended, there is plenty of room so i dont think there will be any problems

Re: HL Springs question

I've got the HL springs, front and rear, Rubberdown 2" lift, 27" XTR's on 14" SS112's. Springs set on softest setting. Trail Armor black A-arm guards and Polaris rock slider neft bars. No skids yet. I've got about 13 1/2" of ground clearance. No rubbing issues. My brother has the same model rzr w/ 26" Big Horns on 14" SS112's, stock springs. He has only 9 1/2" og GC and his stock spring are already sagging a bit (common Polaris problem). He has no rubbing issues either.
My ride is every bit as comfortable as his, but I have the advantage when going over rough terrain due to my increased ground clearance. Neither one of us have rolled our rzr's yet, but I'm sure its just a matter of time. I think the only time that I've felt "tippy" on mine is when I put too much right foot into it.

Enjoy your new ride!

Re: HL Springs question

Thanks, i was hoping some one would chime in that is running this setup so i would know how different the ride is from stock.

Is your your brothers suspension set on the stiffest setting. Just curious if your setup on the softest setting is comparable to Stock on the stiffest setting as far as ride quality goes.

Re: HL Springs question

To be frank, my butt is not able to tell the difference in the ride, they both ride smooth, brothers is set on medium. I could probably get another inch of GC if I cranked mine up. I upgraded to the HL springs based on my experiance with polaris springs not holding up over time.

Re: HL Springs question

It sounds like your terrain is alot like mine. I just have the HL springs and a full alum. skid plate and i dont have any trouble. The springs ride just alittle harder, but not bad. They will give you about 3 inches of lift when two of you are riding compared to stock springs. They dont sag much at all.

I used the Roktec 3" lift with the quick disconnect for the front sway bar. I'm completely stock with UHMW skid from Mudnyeri. Local riding is rocky and tight. Right now my spring adjusters are up 1 in front and 0 up in back. Going up a couple notches all around will give about another 1.5 inches. Disconnect the front sway bar for rock climbing and tight trail riding, this will give you more usable suspension and better ride. Re connect for any fast riding. The Roctec lift kit will give you some additional structual support (I think some of the others do this also). I haven't seen much spring sag yet, but if I do I'll probably go to the Hi-Lifter springs. This combo is working well for me.

Re: HL Springs question

Well i got the Rubberdown lift, and installed it last week. Got to ride about 30-40 miles on it sat. I like it so far, and only rubbed my skid plate probably one time. I have about 11-12 inches of GC with shocks on the lowest setting. I dont think i will do the springs unless it just starts sagging pretty bad. The ride is pretty rough as it is, but it would be no matter what, very rocky trails...

very happy so far.

Re: HL Springs question

I just purchased the 3" Rotec. I run 25" BH tires so the lift should be great help. Holding off on springs until I see what this does. I hope EPI has the springs because they are always less the HL.

Re: HL Springs question

The HL springs were the cheapest I found. $228 at my door.

Re: HL Springs question

Damn shame Polaris used springs that have a different ID at each end. NObody does that. You can get ATV springs in the same length and rate as the HL for $75/pr but they won't fit thanks to the odd ID's. Thanks Polaris!

Yeah , i really like that lift kit too. Its just more then i Need, dont wanna be too tippy, and i wont really go mudding with it. BUT i do love the fact that it has the quick disconnects. I believe it comes with front springs spacers though, so you will have less wheel travel, if it does indeed come with spacers. A bit rougher ride too, but i believe you had the front springs cranked halfway already, with the spacers, just set em at the lowest and try it.
