HL springs

I just got my high lifter springs in......anyone know what the best way to change the color of them? I was thinking of painting or powder coating them so they would not be the gay yellow color they come in.

Re: HL springs

I think you can powder coat over the top of powder coating. You dont have to sand blast. Powder coating is pretty cheap. Probably cost you 10-15 bucks.

Re: HL springs

I have not had them on the trails yet but just around the yard they seem to stiffen up the suspension a bit....the rzr seems to sit a little higher as well.

Re: HL springs

Do yo have a lift on your rzr? If so, what size lift and what size tires?
What are your clearance front and rear?

What kind of paint did you use? I was worried about flaking due to compression!

Re: HL springs

i got HL springs and had them powder coated red. local guy did it for me. he did bead blast off the old coating first. so far they look and ride great!!!
I do like the ride better than the stock. a little stiffer at slow speeds but seems more stable going fast into curves, bumps, etc.

Re: HL springs

I just got my highlifter springs and I took them straight to the powder coat guy and he was able to powder coat right over the top of the yellow without sandblasting. They are now gloss black and look just like stock. It cost me 5 dollars. powder coating is cheap.

Re: HL springs

I've been going back and forth trying to decide whether to pay some hefty $$ for WER or AFCO aftermarket shocks or beef up the springs with Highlifters for considerably less money.

Naturally, you get what you pay for but I'm really interested what you all think of the ride. I also can't have them raise my RZR much more than 1" or I'll have trouble getting it in my enclosed trailer.

Good to know about powder coating, yellow lifters could get you labled

Re: HL springs

I noticed that the ride is stiffer once I put the springs on and I was worried about the height....16" of ground clearence...but it rode good this past weekend. 120 miles of WV trails and didnt roll it once!!

Re: HL springs

I had my stock springs cranked all the way up due to having another guy and two dogs with hunting stuff on my RZR. Rode it last week by myself and it was rough.

Took the springs down two notches. If the ride is stiffer then stock cranked..it's gotta be a pretty harsh ride(?)
