Busted!!

08 RZR, stock shocks and springs, Rubberdown lift, 26" bighorns + 1 tiny little jump that got the front wheels3" off the ground = busted bump stops. I plan to get some aftermarket bumpstops and some highlifter springs to prevent this from happening again.

Re: Busted!!

Let me know if you can replace the bump stops. I did not think that was possible. I have NEVER jumped mine and both my bump stops are split. Holding them together with zip ties for now :-)

Wildman, how di you get those aftermarket Bump stops on?
I watched the video but I'm still confused, did you buy one of the aftermarket installation kit?
How are they working now?

Re: Busted!!

no tool needed. they are pretty tough. i used a little grease and a screw driver and worked it down. they are holding up good and i have rode pretty hard so they are taking the abuse well.

Re: Busted!!

On these shocks does the eye on the end of the shaft unscrew?

I made this shock compressor from a piece of Unistrut, small piece of 2x2 angle (slotted for the shaft to pass thru), a handle bent from a length of 1x3/16 strap. Attach the angle to the Unistrut using a unistrut nut so you can slide it anywhere in the channel, then tighten it down. I've used this by hand up to 800 pound springs. The ratchet strap is only used to hold the spring squeezed so you can start the eye on the end of the shaft.

Cool idea. If I cleared my benches off, I would never find anything.
