LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

WHo can do a shock re valve for stock shocks with a LSR +4 kit on my new rzr? Also I am getting a bunch of bump steer and the thing is all over the place while in 4wd. You think my tie rod ends are to blame with the combination of the stock shocks not being valved? Caster camber also seems like it might need to be adjusted.

Re: LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

A while back, I asked Greg at LSR if the MTS kit could be used with stock shocks, and he said although it could be done, it would be way soft and have a number of problems (like you are describing). I dont know if the stockers can be revalved. Some of your problem is likely in the soft spring though. The only thing I can think of is to put the preload on the stiffest setting, but kinda like pissing on a forest fire. Enjoy.

Re: LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

The way LSR builds it it shouldn't have bump steer my guess is the the toe is not set properly causing it to wonder. Shock should not cause bump steer it is caused by the tie rod pivot point not being aligned with the arm or the tie rod not being the same length as the a arm.

double check and see if the outer tie rod end is above or below the mount on the knuckle. if its above you should have all kinds of bump steer. place it under the mount. compress the suspension by hand and watch the front tires, you should not see them move outward under compression. factory toe setting is 1/16th out. it helps the front axle engage.

Re: LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

Im not 100% certain but I dont believe the stock shocks can be revalved, we did have fox build us some shocks specific for the MTS kit on the RZR. But it does sounds like a tie rod adjustment could help you out, I think its a combo of the shocks and the tie rods.

Try JH-Racing in Tulsa Oklahoma. If at the very worse, you could respring them with eibachs. Does it feel real soft?

Re: LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

as far as i know the stock shocks can't be changed. We don't recommend using the stock shocks at all. They will bolt on, but that is about it. You get very low performance and un-desirable results. The shocks have to be specifically set up for our kits to work correctly. This kit is designed to use stock length shocks, but they must be set up for our kit.

As for bump steer, and handling, check the tie rod to spindle mount as mentioned above. If you mount the tie rod on the top, you will have tons of bump steer, and it won't work well at all.

Also, check the toe in settings. We recommend about 1/8 to 1/4" of toe in.

If you have any more questions, let me know. via email greg@lsracing.com or send me a personal message on here. I would be happy to help!

Thanks,

Greg

i highly doubt the shocks offered from polaris are set up for lsr a-arms. they can be setup for them though.

Re: LSR MTS kit Need Shocks revalved

I know this is a little off topic BUT be sure when you guys are comparing shocks to look at the AFCO's! I love the units I have tested and I think they will go great with a LT designed for stock shock placement.
Bang for the buck the AFCO with resi's are just flat out awesome! Maybe Steve from Makin Trax can post up the video with the AFCO's at the woops??

LOL I don't work for Steve or Mark at Holz Racing but they both make products that I think are "must haves". Can't wait for your report.
