Legend Air Suspension

Does anyone have any info on these air shocks for the rzr. I seen their add in side X side action magazine and went to their web site Independent Cycle Inc. I just wanted to hear from someone that has purchased a set of these and get some feedback on their performance. These things look cool!:

That is pretty cool I don't see why it wouldn't work well if they do them right.

Yea I bet they cost $2000.00 "give or take" but Im a KY trail rider and the expense would be worth it. Don't know if they would be any count in the dunes but rocks, mud, and narrow trail riding these would kick ass." WOW a girl rzr rider "you are a cool rare find!

Re: Legend Air Suspension

I don't know what they cost for a rzr, but I have a set(2) for my bike and they were $1500. If you could get the right size their are some other manufactures out there. Check on 1130cc.com and use search engine for air shocks, you'll find some other brands that are a little cheaper and just as good.

Re: Legend Air Suspension

It's like $1600 for airride on the 68 but I don't think the shock is as advanced it's just a shock inside a bag but the price does include A Arms and Drop spindles. I just ride the dunes 98% of the time so it would be cool for me. I could say I have air in my car on my rzr.

Re: Legend Air Suspension

I drove their Rhino at the UTV Rally in Moab.
The fact that you can change the ride while moving is great.
We were riding on nasty rocky trails one minute with a fairly stiff setting and when we got to a dirt road we dumped a bunch of air lowering the whole rhino and suddenly it was absorbing high speed bumps.

It does not increase the pressure very fast. I think it would need a tank for that.

It is definately the easiest way to pick an infinite adjustment.

They have been making these for Harleys for years.

Re: Legend Air Suspension

The ride is great on my bike, I can only guess how great it would be on a rzr plus you get a few inches in height adjustment. Like XXXoffroad said you would need a tank for faster adjustment, the compressor that comes with it is not instant. It will deflate fairly fast but to go back up takes atleast 15sec or so.

I want them to make a version that can quickly be extended on any corner for rock crawling.

Re: Legend Air Suspension

I have Fox air shocks on my KFX450R and love them:

I talked to Fox about making them for the RZR and they didn't seem interested. Turns out the KFX450R is handled by one Fox division and the RZR/Rhino is handled by another. Ugh. Cool concept. Would love to be able to change ride height and be able to change for various loads (people & cargo).

Video here:

YouTube - Off Road Legend Air Suspension for SidexSides

Looks kinda cool, but price is a bit painful. I would be happy to pay WER money! Now, I say they're cool - but not enough people have really put them on a RZR to say how great they are. Everybody is talking about the adjustability but I'm interested in if they really do have the best ride and suspension control, if they're unstoppable on trails or just good at high speed stuff, or vice versa. An air spring just behaves differently to a good old fashioned coil and regardless of adjustability traditionally they've always kinda sucked with on-road applications (except in the area of ride quality). However, in this application they really could be the ultimate choice.

One thing I don't like - a 1yr warranty. At this price I expect something rather more reassuring, or at least the knowlege that they can be fixed relatively affordably.

If I come across a bit negative, that's not the case - I'm kinda hoping they're the pinnacle of as far as you can go with suspension on the RZR.

Re: Legend Air Suspension

Well for the 9K plus that most of us paid for our RZR I would have expected more than 6 months worth of warranty!

Re: Legend Air Suspension

Well, we get a 2yr warranty here. But have to pay $17k for our RZRs.
