Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

We'll be making our first visit to Moab later this summer and I'd like to get some input on the best RV park where we can ride directly from the RV. We have a motorhome pulling a trailer and I'd like to avoid breaking camp just to tow the RZR to a parking spot to ride from.

I've seen several RV campgrounds but it's unclear from looking at their websites if riding from the campground is possible or allowed. Suggestions appreciated!

Russ

Re: Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

Just got back from Moab sunday. There are so many trails there you are going to have to trailer it if you wanna try out different ones daily. Fyi cane creek was dry as a bone which that is a awsome trail when can get wet but pretty boring dry. Make sure you try posion spider mesa if you want some simple but intense climbing. If you have never been i'd buy a trail book which covers all the trails and there challenges. It's very hot and dusty there so be ready.

We were there last week in April and Kane Creek had all kinds of water, I'm guessing spring run off is what we saw, with the water Kane Creek is a great trail !!
As for riding from camp, our friends have a toy hauler and didn't want to break camp either, one day we rode Seven Mile rim directly from Arch View RV Resort, not the best camp ground in Moab but you can get to several trails from there, just ask the camp ground people and they'll help you.

Re: Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

I'm surprised an entrepreneur hasn't started an escort service to shuttle people around. From campgrounds to trails.

Finally something a hippy could do.

Then again would people give $30 for a trailer ride across town?
I'll work out the details after some coffee.

instant small business - get a tandem axle trailer - get a cool 800#; 1-800-SxS-Taxi - park along side Hwy 191 for free and wait (next to that camper that sell piņion nuts and has since the early 90's).

need more coffee.......

You could stay at Lone Mesa group site. There aren't any hookups, but there are miles and miles of trails just outside the campground. These trails tend to be some of the quieter trails in the Moab area - not a lot of traffic, but they are still a ton of fun.

Re: Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

As familyman said, Archview is near quite a few trails on each side of the hwy & the only one I know that has reasonable facilitys & trails from the park. It is a few miles out of town ,opposite the Canyonlands turnoff Tent & RV Camp Sites | Archview Resort Moab Utah

Re: Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

I don't know what boondock means, sorry I am Aussie Plenty of dry camping, North of Moab on the left coming in before the Archview rv park, or on the right there are spots around Mill canyon.Ken's lake out south of town, anywhere along the river there are loads of camp grounds, Out behind the rocks south of town about 12 mile on the right, thats heading towards Arizona of course. Area BFE there are dry camping spots. Up near Hells revenge all along the sand flats recreation area is camping.

Re: Moab: Best ride-from-camp RV park?

To see the top 10 trails in Moab you need to camp in 3 areas. We spent 3-4 days up Kane Creek, 3-4 days at Sand Flats and 3-4 days up near Archview in a BLM designated site. We were able to drive the toys to all but two trails, Poisen Spider and 7 Mile Rim. Each of those have day parking.
