Where to ride around Tucson AZ.

Looks like I have a week in Tucson after x-mas and I was thinking about taking the rzr down for some riding. Anyone have any good trails around Tucson?
Thanks

Re: Where to ride around Tucson AZ.

There is a lot of good riding around Tucson...and you picked the right time of year to come.

1. Reddington Pass - On the northeast side of Tucson, up a dirt round into the foothills between the Rincon and Catalina Montains. Mostly jeep roads, some technical sections, usually can find some water near Chiva Falls, but is has been very dry. Watch out for the wildcat shooters on the road up.

2. Gardner Canyon/Rosemont Junction - Southeast of Tucson off Highway 83, our favorite area to ride. Lots of options in this high desert location. Several mines, some caves, lots of roads and jeep trails, not too technical.

3. Charleau Gap - North side of Tucson/Oro Valley is a jeep road that heads up into the foothills of the Catalinas. Tecnical sections that will take you up through the gap.

Just a few options. For more options and permit info (if you are from out of state) go to the game and fish website. Arizona OHV Trails & OHV Maps OHV Places to Ride and Areas in Arizona

Enjoy!!! Casey

I ride in the Gardner canyon area. Plenty of camping sites. Rosemont junction also has many trails. Goto the national forest station at sabino canyon. They give free maps fog ohv there. One for the Santa Rita mts (south of Tucson) one for reddington pass and it's free. Happy trails

Thanks for all the info. I am looking forward to seeing the desert. I went to the game & fish web site. It looks like if your from out of state and have a sticker from your state and are not staying more than 30 day's, you don't need another sticker. Does that sound right?
thanks Steve

That is how I understand it. We do the same thing when going to California...as long as we have all our AZ stuff, we are good. Enjoy your trip. If you need anything else...we can help!!!

Re: Where to ride around Tucson AZ.

I live south of 3 points, which is about 45 minutes west of Tucson. There are trails all the way down to the border fence and also north, I have not been on the ones north that much yet. I have been riding around out here for 3 years now and I am always finding new trails and areas.

Re: Where to ride around Tucson AZ.

Any of these trails worth the 16 hour drive from Houston? I am looking for an adventure park trail where I can open up the throttle and enjoy the scenery. I was thinking of driving to CA at Johnston Valley.. but its too far of a drive. Johnston Valley is the kind of trail I will like to visit.
