Re: cinders?
I'v never been there, but I'v heared that you wont make it up the hill without them. Not sure how true that is but i would get a set of paddles anyway.

Re: cinders?
run paddles, the cinders are lighter ans looser than sand. you will need lots of HP to get up the big hills.
advice get a molded paddle tire. the skat trac vulcanized tires are too thin and a sharp rock or tree rut will rip them open.

Re: cinders?
I made 3 trips this last summer in the RZR with the stock tires. And yes you will be in awd if you want to make it up most the hills. It goes throu alot of gas i noticed in the cinders, most of the time especially the hills you will be maxed out at 5500 rpms. Paddles I don't know, it might help a little but you will eat them up real quick out there. I will be up there in a few weeks I hope..

This is the first place I took the RZR after buying it...

Re: cinders?
The RZR does pretty well in the Cinders with the stock tires. They are not as confidence building as paddles would be, but a stock one can make it to the top of $100 hill going the back way. It will also make it up all of the sides of Red Bowl, not just the middle. General trail riding is fine without paddles. I wanted to put paddles on the RZR but they get chewed up really fast out there so it's kind of a waste of money. You'll find yourself at 5K RPMs all day and in FWD, so plan on bringing lots of gas.
We'll be up there on Memorial Day Weekend hopefully.

Re: cinders?
You dont need paddles at the cinders to have fun man. you will be able to get most places without them. There will be some places you may run the motor hard to get up but be smart and watch your temp should have no issues. Now there will also be some bigger hills you will not make up the face but if you have not been there before there are plenty of other small trails and such to ride on. Another word of advice if you use your good dune paddles at the cinders they will be toast in a couple weekends for sure. Just drop the air pressure in the stock tires a bit and go have fun.
