Question where to ride

Does anybody know of any good places to ride in Western Tennessee? I ride a lot at Turkey Bay, and want to try something different.

Re: where to ride

Thank you mdevans. I read your post about Kentucky, I get every other weekend off with my job so I am not sure if I will be off. I have a camper that I would love to take (along with my wife) so I could stay the whole weekend. I will let you know as soon as I find out.

Re: where to ride

I am from west TN as well, and riding spots are at a minimum...
Wheelin in the country is a jeeps paradise, but has become too rutted for the rzr IMO....There is a place In Dyersburg called Coon Creek, but I have never been, and am afraid it will become another Wheelin in the Country very soon....
I recently went to Natchez Trace with several people, riding fire roads, and alot of trails that go through private land....They were some great trails, and we saw alot of other people riding, but you need someone that knows where they are going, or you will be lost.....
I have never heard of the Woods and Water, but sounds interesting...I did a search, but it came up with nothing.....I am also curious about the Covington Pike trails as well....
By the way, what part of West TN are you from? I am in McKenzie....We should hook up sometime....

Re: where to ride

I actually live in northeastern Arkansas, but I go all over the place to ride. I just wanted to know where to ride in Tennessee. I know a few people that went to Coon Creek, and they said it was o.k. I have never tried covington pike yet, but I want to. Have you ever been to Turkey Bay? That place is great, but is shut down for now due to rain. They have not been open since I bought my Rzr. I also like going to St. Joe State Park. Both of those places are about a 3 hr drive for me, but it is worth it.

Yea, I go to St. Joes atleast 2 or 3 times a year....We have a ride scheduled there for June 26th-29th......You should try to come!!!!!
I ride at Turkey Bay often as well....I didn't know they were closed...That sucks....I was thinking about going Saturday since they were giving temps in the 50's, but I guess that's shot down in flames....
They have had alot of rain, and the new management system is really strict about cutting down on erosion.......

Re: where to ride

just south from land between the lakes there is a place to ride called linton lake.I use to be stationed at ft. campbell, and would ride the about 3 times a week.Only the locals know about the place...alot of tech riding. There is alot of hills, rocks, and a hell of a swamp too( if thats your thing) I would ride there instead of turkey bay just b/c there were less people to contend with + its free

Re: where to ride

I drove all the way to Turkey Bay the day after I bought my Rzr, just to find out they were closed. Now they are saying it will be at least some time after March 1st. The guy at Turkey Bay told me about Linton. We went over there and it was a good place, but it was very easy to get lost. Took me 2 hours to find my way back to the truck. That is not a good feeling when it is getting dark! But it was some pretty good riding.

Re: where to ride

I live in Memphis and have ridden the Covington Pike Trails several times. There are some big ruts from trucks but it is O.K. It is about 20 miles of trails. You can't get lost. You put in somewhere east of the Mississippi River and when you get there you turn around and go back. Most people put in on Covington Pike Road. (Name) There was a rumor going around that it was closed but I haven't been able to verify that. Has anyone heard of the Honda Trails near Columbia, TN. off Hwy 7? I have seen the sign on the side of Hwy 7 just north of Columbia.

Re: where to ride

I would like to ride at Covinton Pike trails, but I dont know for sure where to ride. I also don't want to ride alone incase I get stuck. I saw last week where everybody parks, but we were in my wifes car. I watched some videos on You Tube and noticed some of the holes were deep.
