Anyone up for a Wind Rock Ride/Coal Creek ride?

Coal Ceek OHV, Trails, projects, and more
Check out the above link for infomation on the riding area.

Trail information

Trails range from gravel roads to extreme mountainous terrain. Easy trails include gravel roads and hard packed clay trails with few if any challenges.

Most trails are rated "moderate" and include mud, small rocks and small hill climbs. The more "difficult" rated trails will include off cambers, tougher hill climbs, rocks, mud and should only be attempted by experienced riders.

There are over 160+ miles of trails now open in the area. All trails are marked with a trail number, degree of difficulty and vehicles allowed on the trail. Some trails are restricted to ATV and Motorcycle use only.

There are plenty of different trails for all types of vehicles and adrenaline levels. There is also beautiful mountain scenery around every corner.

To access the OHV area you are required to have a Land Use Permit. Each person entering the area, regardless of age or activity must possess a land use permit while using the OHV area.

Re: Anyone up for a Wind Rock Ride/Coal Creek ride?

I am in Etowah, TN. East Tennessee about half way between Knoxville and Chattanooga. It's about a 1.5 hour drive to the rock, but well worth it.

gdawg1976,
You have some nice toy in your toy box. Great to see you and the family are going to be there. One of my boys will be with me, and what buddy's show up.
IMO if you are just coming for one day I would not bring the 90. There are alot ridding your daughter could do, but you need to scope out the trails as they can change a bunch in a matter of days. May be a interstate one day -then rain, traffic- deep ruts and exposed rock the next time you ride.

Thanks for the info. Also, how is parking there? I think that is a good Idea, I think I'll leave it or just lock it on the trailer.

Re: Anyone up for a Wind Rock Ride/Coal Creek ride?

They have plenty of parking, and I havent had anything messed with. There is enough traffic moving around the lot most of the time.
The only times I seeen parking issues is during Spring or Fall Jams. (5000+) atv's.
