Alabama Riding info

Found this site with all the sites I can find so far in one spot. Thought I'd share.

Alabama ATV Trails

Also, some one mentioned in different post, a ride recently in Talladega county in the Talladega National Forrest.. I found this site when I searched but the information appears to be dated. The link to the article is from 09-12-2007. Plus so far I've found no updates as to what has happened, but found a survey lower on the page. Which I filled out with a polite reminder in the email to please not to forget us UTV / SxS riders when considering width restrictions. If it does happen to see if I get any info back...

here is a small bit of the story...
" The complex and land was an old WWII Army ordinance depot with about 1000 acres within a fence, which is level ground and another 1800 acres surrounding the property, which are hills and mountains. There are currently over 40 miles of OHV trails in the complex that use to be old WWII guard trails. The property was given to the Talladega County Commissioners over 4 years ago by the National Park Service (NPS ) and the County has not done any development of the land."

Re: Alabama Riding info

oh', we ride at the ridge when it's not to hot it's just down the road and have not been to Kentuck ORV in years. But Kentuck is very beautifull in October when the leaves turn.. But all those leaves make for slippery riding on bike.

Plus Kentuck does have the 50" limit. Suppose I can go stock rims for that ride... Also the trials are 2way and have several crossing points.
Not a long ride but good trails and easy ridding for family day out.

Re: Alabama Riding info

got this reply from them when I filled out the survey..

"Things are progressing with the property and hopefully soon we will see the National Park Service deed the land to the government entity which has committed to take our plan for OHV and a multitude of recreational venues. We will keep you up to date when any things happens. It has been a long hard battle for over 5 years, but we will eventually see this land developed for OHV.

Thanks,

Sounds great and hope it does happen... to me we can't get enough places to play... course ... I'm a greedy little duck....
