My 10 yr old daughter loves to accompany my wife and I on the trails, so my friend along with some contacts of his, made this custom seat for my daughter. Its first rate and looks factory original. waterproof covering, professionally stitched and powder coated. It elevates her and allows her to see over the dashboard. It also doubles as a comfortable arm rest. It hooks in to the seatbelt rod on the bottom and hooks on to the roll cage bar in back of the seats. She rode with us all day yesterday and was comfortable.

No straps on a kid in that position. I could see her hitting her head on the dash, the shift knob would just flat out hurt, or worse...

It's a novel setup and looks good, but I'd hate to see her get hurt.

Yeah, it's nice to make your own stuff to save a little cash, but it's not worth the savings in the end if someone gets hurt. I'd never be able to live with myself.

It's a nice concept, but it looks a little hokey as a child seat. Armrest, yes, Carseat, No...

If you're serious about taking her along for trail rides and such, I'd seriously consider getting a Twisted Stitch front bench.

great seat looks like the one I built for my 3 yr old I put a 5 point racing harness in mine. He loves it and with the harness does not move a bit.

Thats a cool idea! I broke down and got a bench seat for my little one to sit in the middle....lol

Nice work. I made one for my daughter 4 years ago. I called it the Rhino Booster. Ages 1-4. Now she is too big. I bolted to the V in the roll bar(in the Rhino of course). Used XL Winchester nylon dog collars from Gander Mountain, 3 of them. Made a 5 point harness. I'll try and send photos. May give you harness ideas.

Thanks for the inspiration JohnnyB. I mocked a template out of plywood and dropped it off at the metal fab guy. I will post photos when I am done. My seat will be custom taylored for a center turbo intercooler mount. I think that I will make a 4 point harness out of the nylon dog collars again.

Hey Johnny is there any chance of you and your buddy making any more of these?

I could probably accomplish the same thing, but if you have all the measurements etc already, I would rather take the easy route ......
