STM Primary

Hey guys,
So my primary clutch took a crap and I was curious if is worth purchasing a STM Primary, or should I just buy another OEM clutch? I am running EVO 5r

Thanks

Re: STM Primary

You might want to search before you buy. I was reading a thread, which I cannot find right now (maybe it was deleted), but a lot of upset people with STM clutches. Lots of problems and hard to get their product warrantied even from a defect. I know there are a lot of squeaky wheels on this forum but too many were cuing in to be false.

Re: STM Primary

I guess I'll stay with stock clutch and not abuse it it much and when it breaks buy new stock

STM Primary

Bad reviews on the STM. Check out the RVSPerformance website. They sell aftermarket clutches and they are teamed up with Evo. Not sure your model but here is an example.

Re: STM Primary

I did read the thread of people not happy with the STM clutch, but also saw a thread talking about loosing horsepower due to the stock clutch. And then was curious if my clutch broke due to the horsepower

Looks good but what about on a turbo car, it's not listed?

Re: STM Primary

Looks like they use the STM for the turbo. You can always call Ryan at RVS Performance and ask if they have a RevX coming for the turbo!

They also have Team secondary's. Do you need to switch out the secondary also if you do the primary? Or can you just use the clutch kit and replace the rollers?

I'll have to give Ryan a call and ask him, since they only sells the STM for the turbo car. Just didn't want to have to keep replacing the clutch

Re: STM Primary

What about a happy medium? Putting a clutch kit in a stock clutch? We dont run high power stuff but we do set a lot of cars up for long distance reliability and we seem to have great luck going this route.

I do have a clutch kit installed also, I just start to think that the clutches just go bad no matter what after so many miles and the sands gotta be hard on them
