I've never heard anyone mention this DUMAX drive belt on here. All I've heard of is OEM and the Gates. What's the word on this DUMAX, and holy cow a full clutch kit AND a belt for the same price as everyone else's clutch kit alone, that's a deal.

I cant speak for the belt quality as I have never put any miles on one. We lean toward the OEM Belt, But we sell quite a few of these kits and have yet to have a complaint about quality.

Re: STM Primary

I have their Rage 6 and secondary clutches. Had issues with it right out the box unfortunately, but they took care of it very quickly, no questions asked.

I haven't put but maybe 100 miles on them yet, so I cannot speak for reliability, but I can say that they grip the belt MUCH better, and really put the power to the ground. The secondary is nice engine brake wise too. It is not as strong of a brake - say while descending down steep hills in low range, the ass end doesn't want to lock up nearly as much.

Maybe the stock clutches would do just as good with kits in them, but don't have any real experience with that.

Thanks for your input......

I have EVO clutch kit already and it seems to have worked alright but I only got on trip on the setup before it broke. If stm clutch is worth the money then I'm all in just looking for real first hand feed back before I make the purchase.

Yeah, my stock secondary broke... and with everyone else having issues with the stock primary a while back I decided to just buy the STM stuff. Now that my boost issue is finally fixed I hope to put some more miles on these clutches

Off-topic here, but have you seen the stock clutches on the X3? They look awesome compared to the RZR lol

Re: STM Primary

I'm on the EVO 5r as well and they strongly urged me to put in the STM Rage 8 which I did as recommended

I didn't notice any incredible gain out of it. I don't think it's worth the price but if it can take that kind of power as it is said to be designed maybe it was worth it. I guess my bottom line is I guess I expected more out of it than I got but I'm really only comparing the seat of the pants feel as I had no dyno numbers before and after to show. After installing it with 5r I was at 150hp at the wheels.

Yeah I'm gonna end up doing the rage 6 so i don't have to deal with worrying about the stock clutch going out on me again

Re: STM Primary

were you going through alot of belts with the stock clutch and 5r tune? I have the evo clutch kit and is set up pretty good, but with the 5r tune in sand, I can't seem to make a belt last more than 100 miles.

Yep went through 2 belts on stock. That was part of my decision to go to STM's. But even then I broke one. I then put in an Alba belt temp gauge. I've also tried an inline belt blower and adding vents to the cover. The vents in the cover made the biggest difference but with the mud and water I'm in once and awhile I'm changing direction now and trying the Desert Concepts belt blower kit to see how it does. It uses a separate intake and fan to induce air in. Otherwise once I see the belt temps are high I just back out of it and let it cool for a bit.
