Im Curious myself anyone running them? I dont think u will get to many responses. I couldnt get a whole lot of interest on a post about elka 5s but im definitely no forum guru , I may have posted it incorrectly ?
The stock shocks have faults no doubt, but they're very plush for recreational trail riders. The fox shocks are a little stiffer on the choppy stuff, but smooth out at speed. If I ever fold a walker Evan shock I'm going with the internal bypass fox over the stage 5 Elka.
I have them, done some rock crawling and duning so far..
I am very happy with the performance...looking forward to some high speed desert.
only down side is they are clunky sounding in the rocks when they drop out
Internal bypass shocks are the best you can get for a normal guy . They adjust as the shock travels through its stroke they are trophy truck shocks . The main reason they just came out for the 1000 is the shock shaft has enough stroke to work . IE a longer shock .look at a external bypass shock . All those tubes are inside . Dirt sports mag taught me this . The professor I think

The new FOX edition doesn't have the DSC bypass coilovers the OP is asking about.
They are aftermarket shocks.
I replaced my Walker evans Stockers with the Fox DSC coilovers about a year ago and I felt like I bought a different machine, they soak up the bumps so nice I feel like I can push harder and hold full throttle on the track and trails a lot more than with the stockers.
I mainly run off road trails, and once on a dirt track, not any sand or dunes yet but they are great there too.
Here is a link from Frank's (FJK) testing:
U are correct D S C dual speed compression high and low speed adjustable but I was wrong about the fox edition they do not have that adjustment. The fox internal bypass shocks dual speed compression adjustment are great I want em just can't fork out 5,000 bucks for them . This shock was used by last years top finishers at the Baja 1000.... King shocks also make a internal bypass shock that's great as well ... The internal bypass shocks
Have been around since the 80s they were trying to hide the technology but they were super hard to adjust cause you had to take the shock apart .to make changes the external bypass ( tubes) are much easier to adjust . But they take up too much room for our beloved rzrs. Before king there were shocks called kuster and also kurnut . The rest of what I am gonna say is second hand one of the above said shock companies went out of business and the other or both were sold to KING i think. I have read many articles about all the shocks most of the parts are really similar inside it mostly about the shock tuner and how much money you paid for the shocks and who tune them and how much testing was done. BUT some mfgs have patents . Racing is NOT CHEAP even cheap classes No such thing . Later dudes DOUG
