Re: The new 2014 xp

Sometimes the stork who delivers the baby shares more about it then the hospital or parents!

The stork sometimes has to take the baby to play and learn.

Just a thought!

Re: The new 2014 xp

Just an opinion but I think the 2014 is going to be a lot like the Jagged X Edition just with the short fram. Basicly the same engine mods as the X with Polaris doors and X cage seeing the cage componits will work on the shorty. Some sort of cool graphics package. And maybe a set of Bead lock wheel. Not sure about the shock package but it may be a lil better also. Just my .02

The Bead locks are real, read an artical just the other day that stated they were real bead locks but polaris just mounted the tires traditionally to save time on production. I checked into it and the artical was right. You have to tell the dealer you want them changed so the bead lock is functional and they will remount the tires for you per Polaris.

I think that is a fair assessment of what the July 2014 announcement will bring. It fits their m.o. of teeny tiny incremental changes, bold new graphic engineering, and slight color changes as a way to justify BIG price increases. Then, IF they have decided to release a new model, there will be a big bunch of hoopla, with a 1-1-14 release, which will once again be incrementally better, but in no way live up to the hype that will be generated by the pre-release hoopla. (1200cc motor? never gonna happen. Tube frame? maybe the next model, or the one after that. A real transmission? keep dreaming man, etc)

I'm not saying their new model won't be better, or even be good...but their past history has demonstrated that it won't live up to the hope and hype. But the bottom line is until someone really knocks them out of being #1, there is absolutely no reason for them to deviate from the actions that have made them #1.

I just hope I can live long enough for all the incremental changes to come along and we get a reliable, strong frame and suspension, with good power, and a transmission that doesn't use a rubber band and springs. It's completely within possibility today, but they have no need to build it yet..

Yamaha does indeed have a 500cc motor that makes over 80hp. Its the motor that resides in the FX Phazer snowmobile, its essentially two YZ250F motors mated together. It would be an extremely capable motor for the platform imo, since its already built to handle the loads a snowmobile puts on it.

Re: The new 2014 xp

its a 400cc "rzr" looks more like a Honda pilot/odyssey. its interesting to say the least. not very wide or long. FWIW Grant I believe his screen name is knows what i speak.

Should be unvailed at the Vegas Dealer show in July.

Im not in any way a part of Polaris but the show is in Vegas as always so why not bet on it?

Glad to see someones agree's with me on this. It just fits the patern that is Polaris. The H.O. package is pretty good and untile someone comes along and knocks them off the pedistle for real they only have to do what is required to maintain the top spot. A better fram would be nice and some suspention that actually works in the woops would be a real plus and may come to be in the near furture but for now a shorty Jagged X edition or something of the sort is what we can prabably expect the 2014 to be. Which is ok for now.
