Its the ends of your shocks where bolts go through. They are dry. Search the forum it has been discussed. Need to be taken apart and lubed a little.

Re: Xp is squeaking!

OK I'm on my pc now so I can give you a link to a thread I started a while ago. The first post is the fix, the last few posts are from XP owners saying they are having trouble starting as early as 10 miles on a new machine. Click Me
Good Luck

What he says^. My '12 XP was squeaking about 80 miles, tore the shocks off at 120ish and most heims were dry as a bone. It's a great write up.

Same here, new XP and after a couple of rides/washes my XP "Creaks" when you stand beside the machine and grab the roll bar and push back and forth. My question is pulling the shocks off a big job? Did this take care of the creaking/squeaking?

I actually just came in from doing it.. Takes about 15 minutes a side..

1.. jack up one side until the tire daylights..

2.. take the nuts off the bolts on the top and bottom of the shock.. takes a 15mm.. (one will have a washer on the nut side) I think it's the bottom..

3.. grab the wheel and lift up to relieve presure and take the bottom bolt out.. then just slide the top bolt out and take the shock to your work bench.. or sit down and do it in the dirt, I don't care

4.. there is a metal sleeve in either side. pull those out then use your finger nail and pry the rubber O-ring out.

5.. use your fingers, or if your a girl, use a something for leverage and break the ball loose.. (It's a ball in socket joint).. then oil the hell out of it.. I used kroil oil but only because I didn't have any White lithium grease...

6.. work the oil/ or greese in until the ball moves freely... then lightly greese the rubber O-rings and push them back in.. then pop the metal sleaves back in and go put it back together....

7.. do other side...

Like I said.. takes about 15 minutes a side first time you do it...
