Suggestions on removing dash stickers

I was looking to clean up my dash a little and i was wondering if anyone has an easy way of getting these pain in the ass stickers off and what will take the glue left behind off? I tried rubbing alcohol on a spot and it did nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Suggestions on removing dash stickers

you can also use naptha if you don't have goo gone.
for whatever reasons, i find myself removing decal residue quite often, best process i've learned is too remove decal with heat gun or freeze spray. either way will probably leave tacky residue. then take 1 ply toliet paper and stick on the residue and drop on goo gone or naptha. the paper allows it to dissolve the gum without drying out to fast. then take plastic razor blades and scrape off. you can buy lifetime supply of plastic razor blades on the net for cheap and always come in use, won't scratch delicate shiny plastics.

Re: Suggestions on removing dash stickers

Removed the stickers on two rzr's now, the second time was easier and quicker than the first. It seems like Polaris has engineered the most hard to remove, pia decals of all time. I used a hair dryer, medium heat, ya kinda gotta find the magic amount of heat and exposure time to the heat to "keep the peel" going. Goo-gone to remove the residue. Good luck!

Keep in mind when removing these type of things that sometimes pulling at a different angle will help. Sometimes it's 90 degrees, sometimes you need to pull at a greater angle. Believe it or not it can make a huge difference in how well the adhesive comes off. Also be careful with a heat gun on painted plastic! A hair dryer is also an option.

Re: Suggestions on removing dash stickers

A heat gun on plastics is a overkill just use a hair dryer and peel them off then use goo gone its that simple. People need to realize there are retards out there and shouldn't recommend heat guns or harsh chemicals
