Re: plow mount...revisited

I purchased the Motoalliance plow for my RZR XP. I have it assembled and ready to go. Sadly, we haven't had any snow to try it.

From what I can see, the Motoalliance plow is very well built. It also appears that the mount is clean and simple to mount to the machine. I'm sure this plow will work well.

I think I am going to go with the KFI mount and 72" plow. Problem is it's 1100 with shipping up here to Alaska

Re: plow mount...revisited

I haven't even bought an XP 900 yet, but if I do, a plow is a must. It appears there are only a few options out there, but with significantly different mounting points. What is the general opinion on the front end mounted Motoalliance vs the underbelly mounted KFI? I am interested in using the XP for moderate snow removal on my property, but mainly for sport. I want a system that, more than anything, will be the safest for the machine.

I have the motoalliance mount and it blows the competition away. Granted mine is on a 50" so I dont know if it fits the xp, but the fact that you dont drill any holes and it mounts in minutes. Comparison of the eagle and the motoalliance.

Re: plow mount...revisited

KFI now has a mount that mounts in the front and does not require any drilling. I spoke to them yesterday and they reassured me that the best place to mount is on the front. basically just like all the other old RZR mounts. They just finally made a bracket that fits the new XP front end style.

I have a motoalliance setup and I would like to see how hard it would be to weld the kfi center mount to the moto front mount to spread the force on the frame out. As far as the plow end of it though I'm really impressed with the motoalliance quality.

Re: plow mount...revisited

Why buy a mount and try to rig it together!? If you want a plate up underneith the attach to the frame and your front mount, just get whatever thickness of steel you want to use make a cardboard template under your machine that buts up to the front mount and extends out to the points on the fram where you can attach U bolts take your template and cut the steel plate to that shape and drill the holes in the right locations on the plate for the U bolts. Then take your fronmount off and weld or have your friend that can do it, weld the two together. When cool to the touch re mount front mount with new under frame reinforcment plate.

Re: plow mount...revisited

Thus far my KFI setup works like a champ.

We had about 6" Thursday and I probably have about that much more right now. No big storms thus far but what I have had it works just as good as any other plow I've had.

I'm honestly not sure how to say one brand is better than another, all I know is my KFI does what I bought it for and it's a ton of fun.

Two other things that I have that I would suggest.

I bought the Polaris winch mount that is on the shift handle. That is absolutely awesome for plowing because you don't have to move your hand if your going back and forth front forward to reverse.

Second is EPS, I know it's not required but it sure is nice with that extra weight on the front end.

Happy plowing guys

My dealer put a quadovator on my machine but says he has to take the rear bumper off because the trailer hitch (needed for the hitch to mount properly) won't go on with the bumper. What the hell?

I'm also thinking about drilling the mount out and putting some u bolts around the frame just for good measure. If anyone on here needs a list of the hardware you need for a motoalliance setup just pm me. I was able to get it all at my local ace hardware.
Hello just wondering if you could send me that list of hardware you used to setup the motoalliance. I havn't purchased one yet, but am thinking I will this up coming week. Thanks...!

Well I,m starting to think it was just me that got the wrong hardware, because many people on here have installed the motoalliance setup without issues. I would wait to see what you get first, but I will say that with what they sent me there was no way it was going on. I don't know maybe it was hardware for a rzrs and not an xp.

Re: plow mount...revisited

And for those out there considering who to go with. After seeing my 72" blade installed I think it wouldnt plow very well with a much narrower blade. So just something to think about when your shopping around. Also for people considering the KFI setup I would also consider that they are supposedly already redesigning there mount. I will say that the KFI winch mount is the way to go though.

Re: plow mount...revisited

The larger the blade the more weight it pushes and the more strain on the mount and RZR. I mean the RZR only weighs 1000 lbs. 72 inches can collect a heck of a lot of snow. I personally believe in heavy snow a 60 inch plow can be too much. I bent the heck out of the blade and mount so I am speaking from experience. Just something to think about.

No its on my S. The glacier 2 system. I have a friend who put the glacier 2 on his XP though. I havent seen it but he told me it works fine.

No matter what RZR its on, the physics are the same though. I just wanted to pass some experience with it along.
