Re: Sway Bar Poll

Depends on what you need...medium to high speed handling...connected. Low speed articulation..disconnected.

Re: Sway Bar Poll

I took my sway bars off right away and cranked my springs to adjust for the body roll. Way better in my opinion for rooted, muddy, rocky ground. allows the suspension to work as it should and the wheels to drop individually. I think If I were dune riding or higher speeds I would keep em connected.

I do trail and off Camber type riding. I just don't want the body to lean over if I'm on the side of a hill. What do you think?

Re: Sway Bar Poll

I think you'd be better off with it disconnected and adjusting your springs..a sway bar tries to maintain the suspension at equal extension..cross camber you want to maintain as level as possible.. ie you want the upslope compressed and the down slope extended. Best bet is to expeiment both ways and see what you are comfortable with. Just make sure you add a little pre-load with it disconnected.
I like it better disconnected for technical terrain...but I also like to haul butt..I need a quick disconnect.

Disconnected mine, for trail riding it is much better than when it was connected.

no, just a std rzr with walker evans shocks and some budget spacers so I feel a little bit like a big boy rzr 900xp.

Re: Sway Bar Poll

On my o8 RZR(S), I guess It should be called an "S", or I can always say "+5"? anyways, I don't run the sway bars at all. However I do recommend that if you are going to remove them that decision is best accompanied with a new set of springs.

Good luck!

Doesn't much matter IMO the swaybar function is very similar with the a-arm set up and the 3 link. OP should try both ways to answer his question IMO.. So many variables in terrain and what people perceive as better or more comfortable in many cases...generally though sway bars aren't of use in technical terrain...they are to control centrifugal body roll.

Yep... I need a quick disconnect too. I like it disconnected, but there sure are times I'd like the azz to stay put a bit more at high speeds. It slides better connected. Not sure how a factory RZR would behave cranked down enough (stiff I'm thinking). My progressive springs help a lot to stabilize the machine without a sway bar. Those new springs are night and day.

I bet 70% of those with disconnected sway bars have the Racer Tech springs, or Makin' springs on their machines...

Re: Sway Bar Poll

As a reminder for those that disconnect the sway bar, don't remove the entire sway bar mounting apparatus... Just disco the actual bar from both sides and get it out of the way. Some recent stories of frame damage (cracking) from removal of that cross support piece the bar mounts to. Clearly the frame relies on that piece.
