Which air intake?

Double down with gaskets and prefilter or fuel customs fci? Lots of dust where I ride. Fixing to get 900 xp back after top end rebuild. Thanks

Re: Which air intake?

I've got the UMP system on mine. No issues and no dusting.

Re: Which air intake?

I have the FCI. I also have an RC2 filter in the stock location. I ride in dusty conditions and when I pull the FCI filter to clean it, the box is clean on the inside. I mainly did this this to remove the stock choked up intake system. It made a noticeable difference in the midrange on the butt dyno HOWEVER beware, it is quite a bit louder. I don't mind it but some may.

Re: Which air intake?

I wouldn't even consider anything other then UMP intake/ filter system.

The stock plastic intake/ filter box distorts over 50-100+ heat cycles. Neither one band-aids are going to fix that.

Protect your investment.

Re: Which air intake?

Just got a UMP after my Jagged X during the tear down as I found way too much dust in the throttle body. I have not installed it as I am still putting Jagged back together.

Re: Which air intake?

Just bought my 12 900 XP a few weeks ago and concerned about the intake and filter setup. Has 5300 miles and the top end was overhauled at 4500 due to dirt getting in. I believe it has an upgraded oil type filter but I want to tear it apart and get a better look. Any suggestion where to get the UMP setup?

Just installed k&n intake system so far I like it. I plan on getting some outterwears for the two filters. But just installed after new top end rebuild and haven't had it out yet to see if the dust problem is cured

Re: Which air intake?

Have Fuel Customs and also run stock paper filter with it. The stock paper filter is absolutely perfectly clean after 1500 miles. Ready to try it without the paper filter. Performance is awesome but it does add some noise. I highly recommend it.

Did you folks notice any performance improvements with the aftermarket filters?
