Make sure there isnt sand or dirt in the throttle body is what I think he means but may be wrong..

The XPs tend to get sand past the air filter to becuase the airbox doesnt seal that great..Check the clean/motor side of the air box for exsesive sand or dirt..

Re: Buying used 900... What to look for??

Look under the rear gear box where it bolts together, you have to get on the pass side just in front of the rear tire, get low and look between trans and skid plate,if it looks like its leaking where the case bolts together it will cost 500 to fix,i found out the hard way, they had problems sealing from the factory, good luck

Re: Buying used 900... What to look for??

The owner should be able to prove service was done at 25, 50, and 100 hours. If the 100 hour service has not been done you'll want to do that right away and keep it on it's minimum service schedule. I would get the vin and talk to the local dealer and see if any service bulletins were issued. What year model is it? 2011 had to have some heat shields installed. Drive it off road if possible, you'll get a better feel for it than just driving it down the street.

Hope it works out for you, they are a blast to drive.
