What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

What does everyone keep in the small parts of the bed? I've seen lots of mounting solutions for the middle but are there any tricks for filling up those side spots?

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

A company made a Rotopax mount that will fit a Rotopax gas can

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

I don't remember what thread it was but someone found some ammo cans that fit. He was going to powder coat them and bolt them in to carry tools and small parts.

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

I read somewhere that these boxes fit perfectly. I haven't tried them though.

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

I'm also very curious what others have been able to fit in this spot. It's wasted space, and I'd love to have additional storage.

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

I have seen the small ammo cans in those spaces. I am thinking about mocking some up to see about building mounts for them.

Is that a 2017? Don't think those would work on anything with the shock reservoirs mounted on the cage.

I keep a machete w/sheath zip tied to the res bar! Comes in handy sometimes.

Re: What fits between bedside and reservoir bar?

I have ridden a couple hundred miles with the ammo cans now on the 2017 XP. I really like them. Stay good and dry. I keep nearly all my tools in one and my tire repair, inflators, Gage's, in the other one. Going to pull them off and powder coat them next week. Only thing that is sort of a nuisance is the mud that gets in the area in front of them but it is not too bad to clean out. Hopefully the mudbusters I just ordered will help alleviate some of that. My wife and I get pretty covered in the cab on muddy trails. Definitely a good use of the space. They are the 30 caliber ammo cans

If someone came out with moulded plastic lockable boxes I would but them.

Since I took this picture, I heated the bottom/side of the box with a heat gun and then while is was semi-pliable, I forced it down and now it fits at the front of that area. Works well.
